Birds of a Feather

Hi there!  I have a little Throwback Thursday action for you...

Remember this one I made with the June 2012 Stamp of the Month, Life is Tweet?

Isn't it torture fun to look back at old pics and watermarks?  Yikes!  :)

Well, today, I used this sentiment again with a BRAND NEW sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches.

I also used a BRAND NEW Close to My Heart My Acrylix called Feathers.

These little glitter buttons are one of my favorite retired embellishments, so I KNEW one of these glittery beauties would be holding the feathers before I even started the card.  Then, instead of using the entire thickness of the Baker's Twine, I took out the single silver metallic strand to use.  This just keeps the dainty and light feel of the feathers better.

Speaking of feathers...I stamped on VELLUM!  WOot!  My friend gave me a TON of vellum, so I needed to use some!  I stamped the feather images in my Lagoon Mini Pigment Ink and Versamark Ink, and then added clear or silver embossing powder before heating it up.  Finally, I grabbed my Sorbet (yep, you read that right!) Alcohol Ink Marker to color in some of the image.  I am DEFINITELY going to be playing with this technique more!

Here is the rest of the sentiment from the June 2012 Stamp of the Month...

I had to leave you with one last picture of those shiny vellum feathers in the sunlight, since the sun finally came out!  :)
