Happy Buttons for the Happiest Place on Earth!

Happy!!!

How else could I possibly feel surrounded by all things Disney and Close to My Heart, lol!?

The cat is finally out of the bag, and I can share the secret behind these Happy Buttons seen all over convention...(and if I had actually clicked on publish, this would have been live earlier today, lol.)

The one and only CTMH Consultant Tresa Black put together the greatest show on earth for the happiest place on earth!  AND we pulled it off...a flashmob of CTMH consultants to the song Happy by Pharrell Williams! It was so incredible!!!  Check that one off the bucket list!

I am sure you can find some video on YouTube by now, and I will come back to link one up when I find one!

UPDATED WITH THE LINK!!!!!!!

Here is the link to the amazing Tresa Black's blog with the video!  :)  I am in the upper level to the left of the stage!

Base and Bling Magnets and a Pendant with a Twist

Back again!  I have a quick post about two of the little gifties I created for my CTMH sisters at convention.

I just love how easy these were!!!  I used the clear cover/glass of the Base and Bling necklace to make some little magnets with liquid glass.  I started off super-simple, and then had a stroke of inspiration!

I still can't get over the mickey ears!  I cut them out from the Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartridge.  They were actually left over from another project that I still have to show you...AFTER a certain something happens!!!!  EEEEEK!  I just cannot wait!!!  ;)

One more little something from the base and bling!  I made this awesome Damask look pendant using the For Always Textiles!  Added bonus on this one when the fabric turned BLUE in places!  Isn't it a neat look?

Be back soon!  :)

A Magical Fairy Wand for CTMH Convention 2014

Hi everyone!  I am having a most magical time here in Disneyland for Close to My Heart's annual convention!

Our team had a wand making contest--which is kind of tricky when traveling by air with said wand, lol.  UNLESS you have real magic!  ;)

Anyway, here is mine! (sorry for the blurry pic--my wand was packed by the time I realized it came out like this!)

I started with this awesome shape from the Cricut Artiste Cartridge cut on Grey Glitter Paper.  The silver accent from the retired base and bling line was perfect on each side.

I wanted to be sure to add some of our versatile twist ties to my wand, and I colored them with my Cotton Candy Alcohol Marker to match the retired pink sparkles.  I wrapped the wand (sucker stick) with silver geometric washi...

I just HAD to find a place to add these bells...so this retired grey ribbon was perfect!

Here is a tip for cutting glitter paper on your cricut machine...hold it down nice and steady with some washi!  :)

CTMH Convention 2014: Damask Divas Secret Sister Gift Exchange!

Greetings from Anaheim!

I am sooooo ready to see the new Idea Book!  The new one has a new name, Annual Inspirations, AND a ton of new products that will be available for one entire year!  I will get my hands on it later today, but for now I can finally show you my Damask Divas Secret Sister Gift!  :)

My secret sister was MARCI!!!  :)  I got her two fantastic shades of OPI polish that are inside this sparkly milk carton...

I also wanted to put a little Convention Survival Kit together for her!

Inside are chocolates, emery boards, and this handy-dandy notebook!

Got sequins?  Yep!

Got bling?  You betcha!

Got post it flags?  Oh, yeah, baby!  Perfect to flag all those must-have new items in the Annual Inspirations!  :)

Finally, I wanted to make something personalized for her to tie onto her purse or name badge...so I used the new Base and Bling to do just that!  :)

Now let's get this party started!!!!  :)  See you later with some news!  Head on over to my Facebook page for the latest updates!  I'm trying to reach 300 likes over there by the end of June, so help a girl out while you are there!  :)  Go to https://www.facebook.com/MimiMyselfandIDesigns?ref_type=bookmark and then click on "LIKE" and that's it!

Tinkering on Tuesday with My Cricut

Hi everyone!  This little project was super-fast and super-fantastic!

I made it quite some time ago and then never had a chance to share it on my blog.

A friend asked for a little Tinkerbell wall decal for her daughter's room, so I pulled out the Tinkerbell and Friends Disney Cricut Cartridge and hopped on to the Cricut Craft Room to get it just the right size.

I LOVE using CCR so I can see EXACTLY what and what size I am cutting.  Since it is totally free to use, you cannot go wrong!  In fact, since you are less likely to have a mis-cut, you will be SAVING money, lol!

I decided to cut out two Tinks on the black vinyl so I had one to play with for experimenting.  Here are pictures of the two cuts weeding away the excess Square One Adhesive fabric, and after placing the transfer tape over it.

I didn't need to worry a bit though!  She turned out just right sitting on my switch plate!  :)

June Stamp of the Month, KABOOM!

Happy, happy Monday!

I am trying to get a lot of posts scheduled for the rest of this week because I am headed off to Disneyland to celebrate 30 years of Close to My Heart at the annual convention soon!  I will be bringing you LOTS of great sneak peeks and new product announcements from Anaheim starting on Thursday, so hang on for a wild ride!

Today I wanted to show you the June Stamp of the Month, KABOOM!, one more time before I leave.  I used the patriotic set to make a little happy mail to send off to the troops with my Operation Write Home donation this year.  You will have a chance to make it at my OWH Card Workshop in July as well!

I simply LOVE the look of the fireworks on the corners with the coordinating CS color behind it!  I used Ruby for this one.  I would have added some sparkle to this one, but that is a big NO-NO on cards for Operation Write Home!

My favorite Close to My Heart My Acrylix stamps are the ones that coordinate with our Cricut Cartridges, and this is no exception!  It coordinates with the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.  For that reason, I am using some hashtag magic to enter Provo Craft's current giveaway of a new Cricut Explore!  :)  Just post your creations with these two hashtags to enter all the way through July 30th.

I will get the rest of my cards workshop-ready after I return!  :)

Bring Back Scrabble! #cricut #imadeit

Hey everyone!  (How many of you can hear your dad saying, "hay is for horses" right now?  LOL!!!)

I have some more fun to share with you from my crafty Scrabble session!

I LOVE this card...hee, hee...

I double matted this baby--swoon!  Any other closet-matters out there?

I am absolutely in love with the rustic look that the Timberline paper gives my Scrabble tiles too...

I cut the letters and numbers using my Cricut Expression 2 and the Close to My Heart Artiste Cartridge.  The edges of the wood grain paper are distressed with Black Exclusive Ink to help give it some definition.

Thanks for peeking in on me today!  Remember to check out my special for Birthday Presents to YOU this month!

Framed Newspaper Article with the Timberline Workshop on the Go

Hi there!

Another crazy summer day = a short but sweet blog post!

I framed a couple of newspaper articles for my hubs to give his high school track girls at the end of the season this year.  When he first asked me to do it, I was a bit concerned that I didn't have any "track" themed stamps--but I soon realized I DID!  The Timberline Workshop on the Go Scrapbooking Kit to the rescue!  :)

I backed the articles with Brown Glitter Paper because, well, it IS a girl thing!  I love how it contrasts the newspaper print!

The footprints and sentiments in the stamp set were just perfect!  I also used an arrow that comes with the Cricut Artbooking Collection.

Yep, Making Tracks!  Couldn't get any more perfect than that!  :)

Hope this give you some useful tips and ideas for your own projects!

A Fun Shaped Card from the Artiste Cartridge for Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there (if you are reading, lol!)

I made a really fun and easy card for my Father-in-Law this year using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge from Close to My Heart.

I cut this card at 4.25 inches so that it would fit in a standard size envelope.  I am not at home while I am typing up this blogpost, so I don't have the page number--oops!

My FIL is a big Harley guy, so I decided to have some fun and use the Born to Ride My Acrylix Stamp Set to decorate the card.

I love the way it turned out, and hope he does too!  :)

Artbooking Overlays ARE for Cards!

I am soooo glad I got to play more with these overlays from the Close to My Heart Artbooking lately.  I just LOVE wood grain patterns, so THIS one was tops on my list to try.  I paired it up with my Timberline Paper Packet and the super-cute Camper Crazy My Acrylix stamp set and ended up with a fantastically fun card!

Isn't this the cutest sentiment?  I backed it with Kraft CS to keep the palette earthy.  I cut the overlay on Chocolate CS and stamped the sentiment in the matching Chocolate Ink.  I LOVE the fact that Close to My Heart has an entire line of matching CS and inks!

I created a fun scene on the inside for some added interest.  Check out this adorable set:

I only used two colors of ink, but with first and second degree stamping, was able to achieve the look of four!  :)

Have a wonderful weekend, my peeps!  Anyone going camping?  I'm not, but I WILL be traveling in style in one of these babies out to a family reunion!  :)  See you Monday--a VERY special day!  ;)

BREAKING NEWS!

The retired list has been published over on my Close to My Heart website!  Head on over to see what won't be back in the new Idea Book (soon-to-be-called Annual Inspirations.)    Here's a little preview:  the colors Buttercup, Blush, Sky, Creme Brulee, and Twilight are not coming back!  Go see the whole list on my website HERE!  These items are only available until they sell out, so don't wait!
