Lawn Fawnatics First Challenge!!!

How geeked do you think I was when I stumbled upon the Instagram post that proclaimed the VERY FIRST challenge on a brand new Lawn Fawn challenge blog????  Oh, yes.....totally geeked!!!  I was bumming when the Lawnscaping Challenge closed down, so this was JUST the spark to light my creative fire!  I may be a Close to My Heart consultant, but I love me some Lawn Fawn, and I think you will LOVE how these two play nicely together.

I grabbed my new LF box card dies to make a birthday card for my niece.  Thank goodness for an inspiring first challenge I could use right away!

I LOVE this sprinkle paper from the Close to My Heart Sugar Rush Paper Pack.  In fact, ALL of the patterns in this pack complement the Here's the Scoop stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn perfectly!  This sentiment found on Sweet Birthday just happened to be...yep, perfect!

A little bit of creativity quickly turned these candles into a 17...

Oh my word, this scoop!  SO cute!

This adorable little guy looks delicious...and that glittery heart is even more appealing! I used one of the dies in the box card set to add it...

The back side of this box card is the perfect place to add some cardstock for a place to sign or write a little message.  I was even able to add a little bit of character!  ;)

Happy birthday, Abbie!!!  :)

Blog Hops with Heart 1 Year Anniversary! (Well, Almost!)

There is nothing quite like realizing your new blog hop group is heading for its FIRST anniversary...

...and also nothing quite like realizing that date has already passed, lol!!!

In the spirit of anniversaries both forgotten and remembered, welcome to the Blog Hops with Heart (ooops we missed our) First Anniversary Blog Hop!

I used the opportunity to be AHEAD of the game for my in-laws wedding anniversary next month.  The Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card dies are absolutely my new favorite toy, and I'm not afraid to use them!

I paired the box dies with the Close to My Heart Uptown Fundamentals paper that is gray and black with white polk-a-dots.  Then I added a variety of colorful circles cut from the little round yarn die in the new Lawn Fawn Meow You Doin' set.  You never know where you'll find the purrrr-fect size circle!  ;)

I used a separate LF grass die to add some grassy knolls for my clan to adorn.  Those glittery little hearts are a die included with the box card set, along with all the parts to this coordinating banner!!!  I fashioned my own banner to fit the poles and wire...

Then I slightly bent the pliable acrylic stamps from CTMH Finding the Words to fit...

Each of my family members is represented here by a kiddo from the Mama Elephant In My Heart stamps and dies.  Our feline friend, Willow, needed to be a part of things, so I grabbed the Meow You Doin' sets as well.  Then I used my Copics and ShinHan Touch Twin Markers to color them to suit each of our personalities and styles.  One of my kiddos has super-curly-Q hair, so I HAD to give it a try, lol...anyone have any ideas for that one?

These three black dots dressed it up nicely...
I really love the contrast and the bright colors!

Now you are off to see Kelly's anniversary craftiness!  Thanks so much for joining us, and we hope you come back for future hops too!  :)

Here is the complete line-up this month...

Close to My Heart Planner Coloring Pages: February and March

It's the last Monday before spring break here, so that calls for another blog post to get us through!  Today I wanted to show you my Close to My Heart Planner pages that I colored for February and March.  Did you know you can still pick up this planner in three different bundles at a CLEARANCE price???

February is just BEAUTIFUL!  I love the colors on a Peacock...so stuck pretty much to God's natural palette.

These are the ShinHan alcohol ink marker colors that I used...

March was filled with birds of all kinds!  What a great way to get ready for spring!  I dug out some of our bird identification books and used the ShinHan markers again to create my favorites...

How many can you name?  :)

Wait, what?!?!?  Yep, ALL of them!

Get this tea-rrific stamp in March!

I am especially grateful that being a consultant for Close to My Heart allows me the flexibility I need to run my business in a way that suits my family's needs too.  My life has changed SO much over the past 5 years, and each time it has I just tweaked my business to roll with the changing needs of my family.  Whether it was sending a kid off to college, changing my job to work full time outside the home, or even moving the entire fam to a new house...I have been able to work my business to make it fit. And for that I am ever so thankful!

This card I made with the Sugar Rush papers and Cardmaking My Acrylix Stamp and Thin Cuts sure sums up how I feel about it...

I Heart Thin Cuts (and Florida)

Soooooo with the amazing 25% off sale on Close to My Heart's Thin Cuts, let me show you some of my creations with them for inspiration.

I made this card for a customer with a specific sentiment need...and I'm pretty sure it worked out perfectly.  I used the Fundamentals Whimsy papers, Florida My Acrylix (did you know we have ALL 50 states?) and the Hearts Thin Cuts (on SALE now!) for this one, as well as a cut from the Cricut Artbooking Cartridge

I added this little flag from the Hello Lovely Complements and some Dreamin' Big Sequins.

Sometimes the perfect sentiment is from a completely random stamp set...this one is now retired.

Be sure to pick up any of our amazing CTMH Thin Cuts (even the sets with stamps!) this month while the sale is on!  When they are gone, they are GONE and will not be put on back order, so don't hesitate.  ;)

Die Cuts on Gift Bags

Sooooooo...back to that baby shower around Thanksgiving (yeah, lol, I know.)  I posted a little bitty preview of this project on my Facebook Page, so if you want to see what I'm working on in the moment, head on over and follow me there...

I was able to snag some plain white and kraft gift bags on clearance once, so any time I have a gift to wrap, those are what I grab for first.  Then I figure out a way to embellish it!

This one was super easy to transform for two of the biggest Cubbies fans (with a new one on the way) I know!  I die cut some baby onesies with a die from MFT and used some circle punches to create the Cubs logo...DON"T forget the shimmer trim on those cute clothespins!  ;)

Isn't the heart ribbon just the PERFECT addition?
Close to My Heart has a sale going on all month while supplies last on their line of  Thin Cuts Dies so check them out over on my website soon!  They are the perfect addition to any project!  :)

And, yes, I did get that baby his very own Cubs merch, lol!  ;)

Marching On with This and That

Oh My.  March.  Soooooo much going on!  Where do I start?

Let's start with ART!

I had the absolutely BEST time making this card way back at Thanksgiving for my cousin who was expecting at the time.  Well, fast forward a bit and the baby is here!  I used a new stamp set from Close to My Heart called This and That and a die from MFT to create a little bit of a different baby card sentiment for the shower.

Mmmmmm...love all those blues together!  I blended Peacock, Glacier, Sea Glass, and Sapphire Exclusive Inks together with my daubers...and followed it up with some beautiful streamers from Way to Go across the negative image...

I bet I can find a way to use the onesie die cut now too!  ;)

OK, while we are on the topic of die cuts...this month we have quite the celebration going on with a sale on the Close to My Heart Thin Cuts!  CUT IT OUT!!!

Follow the links in my post to see which ones are still available!!!
