One More Makeover!

I just can't help it...making over the fantastic designs available in the Close to My Heart Annual Inspirations Idea Book is easy peasy.  When you start off with a whole KIT pre-designed for you, it makes it super simple to put YOUR own touches on a project without having to start from scratch.

Let me show you what I mean by using the Blossom WOTG (that's Workshop on the Go for you non-Close to My Heart addicted papercrafters, lol) Card Kit....again!  ;)

On the left is my "almost according to directions" version of one of the cards in the kit.  I simply swapped out some ink and washi to create a whole new color theme for the card on the right...

I didn't tie the bow on this one to save a little bit of twine length...I like to make the MOST of my supplies!
What do you think?

Just think of all the creative ways YOU could make this one over!  Take another look at the adorable stamp set it comes with...

and the rest of the supplies...

 All for JUST $24.95!!!

The Card Kit and washi are only available while supplies last now, so if you want it, go get it!  :)

Ice Cream Dreaming on Monday!

I had a really quick idea for a card that turned out kind of not so quick, lol.

I used the sentiment in the Close to My Heart June 2015 Stamp of the Month to make this birthday card...

The Puddle Pad technique is such a fun way to add a lot of colors to your stamping.  Just drop your ink colors onto a baby wipe and let them blend together a bit.  Be sure to use dark enough colors to allow the image to be show up well enough.  I had to revise my colors after my first attempt with this one...
See how the pink ink needed to be darker?  Easy peasy to fix though, just add more ink!  :)

The "tablecloth" below my cake is from the Confetti Wishes Paper Packet.  I stamped the twisty candles from the Blossom Workshop on the Go Cardmaking Kit in different colors that I used in my Puddle Pad...Gypsy, Thistle, Pear, and Lagoon.

A little snip on the top corners with my Corner Rounder gives it a "cake" look.

The Purple Shimmer Trim makes a lovely platter, no?

Makeover Monday with the Blossom WOTG Cardmaking Kit

It was a cozy workshop this weekend with a lot of laughing while we created--my favorite way to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day!

This is the last card I had available for my customers to create.  I tweaked one of the patterns from the Blossom Workshop on the Go (WOTG) Cardmaking Kit...

I added the Smoothie Striped Washi, tweaked the sentiment, and knotted the Extra Thick Glacier Twine instead of tying a bow.  (You are quite welcome, Beth!)

Here is a peek at the original patterns and supplies included in the kit...

YES!!!  It really does come with a full package of the Coral Reef sequins!  :)

But don't forget, you also get this super-adorable stamp set!

It is an amazing value at just $24.95, so you might want to push this one to the TOP of your wish list!

Have a fantastic week!

Another Look at the Blosson Workshop on the Go Cardmaking Kit

Today is my talented friend, Becca's last day guest designing on my blog...but she is going out with such a BANG!!!  Wait until you see what she did with one of the Close to My Heart cardmaking kits!  Here she is...

I have one simple rule when it comes to purchasing a Workshop on the Go from CTMH:  I'd better have lots of ideas of what to do with it once the paper and embellishments are gone.  The Blossom WOTG is that kind of set.  Here's a picture of what comes in the kit.

I can see using those stamps over and over and over again...like this!

Below are supply lists broken down by cards (with links for your shopping convenience) as well as instructions that might not be self-explanatory.  The two things you will need for all cards are the Blossom WOTG, Foam Tape, and White Daisy Cardstock.

1)  Make a Wish
I stamped the line flower/circle twice in Canary, rotating a bit between stamping to give the frayed edge look.  I used the larger of the two dot clusters to fill in the centers with Canary, and then I stamped in Honey with the smaller dot cluster to add depth.  The stem was stamped in Topiary, stamped off on scratch paper, then rolled in Topiary around the edges.

2)  You are worth celebrating
Sorry about the photography.  I don't understand why it turned out so grainy.  This one was pretty easy except for the sentiment.  I started by cutting the top panel at 5.5"x4.25".  I drew a straight line with a ruler and pencil about 1" from the bottom, stamped the candle in a gazillion colors, cut at the pencil line, and trimmed off about a 1/4" from the bottom piece.  I carefully inked just the "YOU" and stamped it on the top panel.  Then I carefully inked everything but the "YOU" and stamped it underneath...and then I stamped it again on the shimmer trim to cover up the mess I made.  It would have made things easier to cut the stamp in two, but I just now thought of that!

3)  Happy Birthday
Ever since I saw the popsicle stick, I've wanted to create a woodgrain on it using the stamp from the Pathfiding WOTG.  If you don't have that set, though, you can still create a bit of texture by using the stamps that come in the Blossom WOTG.  On this card, I inked the candle in Cashmere, inked the popsicle stick in Champagne, pressed the popsicle stick onto the inked candle, then stamped. It was a little fussy because both images are so small.   The "4 you" tab was stamped on a scratch piece of White Daisy paper.  I stamped it leaving about 1/4" of blank space above the straight edge of the image so, when I cut it out, I had space to glue.  I used the Sanding kit to smooth down the edges after I cut it out because I can never cut a smooth circle.

If you have questions about anything, please leave a comment and then come back for the answer.

It has been such a pleasure to guest design for Amie Kiger, and I can't believe I've come to the end of my time.  I'll be taking a break from all design team duties until I get my next novella written (half done and my characters have simply stopped talking to me!! Eeeek!), and I get moved to hubby's next duty station in Alaska.  I'll still be making cards and other projects, so I hope you'll come visit me at my blog.  Since I'm really hoping you'll do that, I'll sign off with my customary...

Until next time,
Becca

Jamberry Nail Cardmaking Inspiration!

Yep, you totally read that right!  Take a peek at my inspiration for this next card creation...

My awesome Jamberry Nails for St. Patrick's Day!
How's THAT for unexpected?  :)  I was in the car when this one popped into my head and had to wait until later to create this card for my baby sister's birthday today...

This was almost too easy for words.  I used the Distressed Backgrounds My Acrylix Stamp set to make the black houndstooth background.  Then I just added layers of the Blossom Complements stickers!  The simple circle sentiment is an image from the Blossom Workshop on the Go Cardmaking Kit.  I LOVE THE IMAGES ON THE STAMP SET IN THIS KIT!!!

Check out the inside sentiment I chose that is also in the Kit...including the little burst shape I added around the "O."

I added some glitter pen to the center of the word, "YOU."

I easily added the same distressed houndstooth pattern to the flap of the envelope to coordinate them.  I just wish I had cut a white border around the flower element to better match the rest of the flowers.

ALL of the Blossom line of My Reflections products are going to be available starting in April!  :)

Happy Birthday, Brena JOY, you talented thing, you!!!!!
