No drum roll, needed, I assure you as I announce my favorite Close to My Heart Embellishment...
Shimmer Trim!!!
I am telling you that this stuff is the best thing since frosting in a tub!!! All the shimmer and shine of glitter, but none of the mess! I can't think of a better 200th post than one dedicated to my favorite product of all time! :)
My Color Dare project for this week shockingly sports some Black Shimmer Trim. As usual, it just can't seem to stay on its roll in my craft room...just keeps jumping onto my projects left and right. ;) Our color scheme this week is to use the Close to My Heart Colors Twilight, Pear, and Buttercup. These colors are all in the Chantilly Paper Packet, but shockingly, I ignored her this time. I went for my solid cardstock instead because I had a plan!
I had been wanting to use my 2013 April Stamp of the Month, My Sunshine. Nothing would stop me, and nothing did! My inspiration for this card is undoubtedly the many sunsets I watched from the beach house on spring break what seems like weeks ago. I think the black shimmer trim and sentiment are a fabulous contrast to the colors in the card.
Your turn!!! Try your hand at using Buttercup, Pear, and Twilight in one project! Link up to the Close to My Heart Color Dare HERE and join us this week whether you are a CTMH consultant or consumer. If you are chosen as the winner this week, you will get to display the darling little Color Dare Diamond badge on your blog! :)
Here is a flashback to some of my past projects that include the magnificent, self adhesive, Shimmer Trim...available in both silver and black.
You might notice that the last four projects for my Five Faves series also included shimmer trim!!! What can I say, folks, I am hopelessly addicted...lol!!! :)

Not surprised one bit! I thought that was going to be your fave yesterday :)
ReplyDeleteI wear my heart on my sleeve, what can I say? :)
DeleteLOVE your sunset...or sun-rise. The black glitter makes a great sand/water/horizon line... I think your blog moniker should be Glitz, not Kigz (at least for this year of sparkle-iciousness). Big hugs!☀
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! I love that, Caroline! I am clueless as to how to do it though, lol, which is why it is even still Kigz. Thanks so much! :)
DeleteI love your 'sunny' card! I also enjoyed reading your blog post--very witty writing! Thanks for all the wonderful examples of using shimmer trim. thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDelete:) Marie
Thank you, Marie! I just write what pops into my brain, lol. I am glad you came by to see! :)
DeleteSimmer trim rocks....just like you!
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure you rock out that shimmer trim too, Wendy! Thank you for the sparkle! :)
DeleteYour card is very well-done, Amie. I love the layering, and I really like how you used the colored card stock! Great job! It's really neat to see all your shimmer trim projects in one place too. :)
ReplyDeleteI needed to do something different. Colored cardstock seemed the way to go! ;) Thanks, Sarah!
