We Asked, They Answered: the Close to My Heart Thin Cuts Alphabet!

Based on my professionally limited research, THIS has got to be one of the most requested products EVER.  I am SO excited to introduce you to the Close to My Heart Thin Cuts Block Alphabet as we said good-bye to a family heirloom...

It was great how the stripes in the Fundamentals Basics Paper lined up!

Aren't they fantastic for titles!?  This was actually a super way to put "big orange" in BIG letters for some BIG impact.  We had that couch for YEARS...and it was in the family FOREVER, so this was a BIG occasion.  Are you feeling me?

I used the new In the Background stamp set to ink up some polka dots in just the right size to fit the letters...

I also used the current August Stamp of the Month for the thought bubble on this layout...

It's only around for two more days!  After that, the Seasonal Expressions retires and a NEW Holiday Expressions Mini Catty begins!

Don't forget to catch the 50% off Warehouse sale items too!

Hello World Artbooking Layout

This is the perfect example of how long it takes me to get some projects glued down...I cut it out at least two years ago, but finally finished it up at a recent all day scrapbooking event.  In case you feel a little behind in your own scrapbooks, this kiddo just turned 13...yeah, lol.  My layout has cuts from the Cricut Artbooking Cartridge from Close to My Heart and features some new complement stickers as well as some old pattern fundamentals paper.

My favorite part of the layout is the sunburst background cut.  I thought it would be the perfect way to display her birth announcement and pic.

It's never too late to get those baby pictures into an album!  ;)

Mermaid Monday Take 2!

I thought I would squeeze in another quick episode of "Mermaid Monday" before the day gets away from me.  Between home inspections and negotiations, my head is spinning and I need a craft break today even if it is just to share a past creation.  :)

Last month I made a great little card from THIS beautiful artwork I found on Pinterest.

It was not too difficult to use the PIN to create the Little Mermaid using a combination of buttons, sparkles, and sequins from my stash, and I absolutely loved the final result!

The custom sentiment was written by my trusty Cricut Explore...

I wish I could take credit for any of this beautiful card, but the sentiment idea came directly from the awesome mother of the recipient!  Isn't it perfect!!!  :)

Have you guys had any Pinterest wins lately?

Flamingos for a Fabulous Graduation Day!

It's time for a fun little graduation card...this one happens to be a gift card holder turned money holder...

It just so happens that I used several "disappearing" products that Close to My Heart just announced would be retiring at the end of July...or whenever they sell out!  It is rather ironic, because I made the card days before they shared the list with consultants.

I used a Picture My Life Black Overlay on the front of this gift card holder that I cut from the Cricut Artiste Cartridge.  Both are favorites of mine that will soon disappear.  The Tickled Pink My Acrylix and Thin Cuts (back in stock around June 10th) make the CUTEST little flamingos!

Mine was stamped in Cotton Candy and Pixie Exclusive Ink and then I added a sparkly black glitter paper cap cut with my Lawn Fawn steel dies.

That Pink Shimmer Trim will unfortunately not be returning, and neither will the Clear Sparkles I added to the Calypso Sequins...

Here is a view of the inside of the card--you can add a gift card OR even cold, hard cash!

I can't wait to see my niece to give this card to her this weekend!  :)

Make A Wish!

I am toasting the final minutes of having only one teenager in the house as I type this post...oh my word, how did that happen?

My fashionista birthday girl wants a room make-over for her birthday ( I guess rainbows and unicorns are SO 12-years-old), so with this in mind I used the perfect little My Acrylix stamp duo for the sentiment on her card, Wish and Doodled Designs...

I seriously threw this card together in under 20 minutes...a record for me indeed.  I actually had some of the products out already from another creation I have to show you tomorrow.  I used the Confetti Wishes Paper Packet, Thistle, Pixie, and Black Exclusive Inks, NEW White Shimmer Trim (I just heard someone faint...I know how you feel!), Sparkles, and the fantastic NEW Junebug Puffies.

Guess what!  If you ordered each of the products I used to make this card, you would not only be able to get a SWEET deal on the Stamp of the Month for just $5...BUT you would also qualify to purchase size C and D stamps for just $10 each!  That is a $12.95 savings on the SOTM, and another $3.95-$7.95 savings on EACH other My Acrylix you decide to get...as many as you like!  Check it out soon because the Deal of the Decade will be gone with 2014!  You might want to scroll down to see what ELSE you get as well!  ;)

How to Use the Cricut Explore to Print then Cut A Shape and Font Together

Hey everyone!  I had a great time at the Crafty Souls' All Day Craft Event this weekend.  I could have done without the snow, but we were safe and warm inside anyway, lol.

I made a cute little gift for everyone at the event, so I wanted to share it with you, and explain finally how to use Print then Cut on the Cricut Explore to print a font inside a cut-out shape.

I added a few Close to My Heart Sparkles to complete my encouraging sentiment.

To begin with, I started a new project with my Explore.  I browsed the different shaped images until I found one that I liked for my project and inserted it.  You do not need to worry about sizing at this point, so just make it big enough to work with while you are arranging your font inside the shape.  Click on "Add Text" to get started with the next step of adding the text...

This is the box that pops up where you will type the letters you want to print inside the shape...

You can then see how it looks in a variety of fonts on your computer AND Cricut cuts.  :)

Arrange the words inside your shape until they are just right.  Time to play with color!

After you change all the layers to "print" you need to attach it all together.  Using the cursor, left click on the canvas outside all your layers and drag it to the opposite corner...

Let go of the button and the entire image should be surrounded by this box...this will also pop up the layers box where you can then click on "Attach."

If for some reason that box doesn't surround the ENTIRE image (maybe surrounding just the words), you need to go further out on the canvas before you click and drag the blue box around it.  My first experience with doing this really gave me fits and kept just surrounding the inside words, so I recommend working with your image in the middle of the canvas and away from the edges.  That way you can have plenty of room for this step.  :)

NOW you can size the image as a WHOLE in the Edit box without worrying about the letters moving around on you.  You can move the entire thing around on the mat at one time.  :)

When you click on "GO" it will ask you how many projects you want to make.  I chose 6 for this one as that is how many would fit on my printer paper...   After it prints out, just place it on your Cricut mat like so...load it again and press the cut button.  I cannot believe how easy it was!  No more printing out business cards and cutting them out with my trimmer!  This makes things SO much easier!!!  :)

What will you do for YOUR first Print then Cut project on YOUR Explore?  :)

Graduation Rehearsal: Senior Year

I'm tiptoeing into this one...

Yesterday was the last day.  Mandatory school is a thing of the past for baby #1.  Seems like only yesterday that we were singing about getting a letter with Blue's Clues before this crazy thing called school even entered the picture!

In my Artbooking mini-album we have come to senior year.  Words cannot describe.

Vellum is such a great accent to add a delicate, feminine touch to these pages.  Sparkles with vellum is even better!  I used the School Years My Acrylix to stamp the year on this one in White Daisy Pigment Ink.

I  do so love this Keyboard Uppercase Alphabet My Acrylix from Close to My Heart.  It is one of those, "I don't have to be too careful to line these up" sets.  :)  It worked perfectly alongside one of my faves in the Ariana Complements chipboard shapes.

The very last page is this darling envelope.  I decided to add the rest of the wallet-sized pics that didn't have a place in this album.

Tomorrow is the big day...ready or not!  My heart will never be quite ready, but my girl is certainly running to cross the finish line...

Another Page in My Cricut Artbooking Ariana Mini Album

Welcome back!  I hope you stopped back in today to see more of my Ariana Mini Album that I made with the awesome Artbooking Cartridge from Close to My Heart.  This one uses my favorite pattern in the pack!  :)

This page was so fun to embellish!  I started with the title cuts found on Artbooking.  The fishtail flag cuts just like this from the cartridge, and I backed it with Tan Glitter Paper with a thin layer of Liquid Glass.

The single chevron Marquee Enamel Shape is a great addition since it pops off the pattern paper.  Some Sparkles and the tiny bow from the Ariana Assortment are wonderful feminine touches.

Blue Christmas for Muse Challenge

Happy Halloween!  And now, let's jump to Christmas!  ;)

I am BACK in the challenge saddle!  I had a chance to goof around a bit after doing what I HAD to do today, and it was quite the cram session!  All the cards I made have a similar theme, but they have completely different FEEL.

The first one is for the current Muse Challenge.  The Muse card is by Janet Ribet...

Muse Card by Janet Ribet
I just love the cool winter color scheme she went with for her card.  Also, I happen to HAVE that embossing folder!  A plan began to evolve in my head, so I tried to get it onto paper just as fast!

You might recognize this design from an earlier Christmas card I made with these same Close to My Heart stamps, Tree Delights and Framework Alphabet.  I stamped them here in Crystal Blue ink before using my embossing folder over the image.

At the bottom of the card, I tore pieces of White Daisy CS and layered them into a snowy landscape.  I actually had a wonderful spool of trim to use along the bottom as in the Muse card as well.

This star is from the Sparkle Holiday Shapes, a NEW item in our Holidays from the Heart Gift Guide!  I adore these sparkly outlines!  I noticed that the Muse card also uses some iridescent glitter, so I added some Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel to the stars on the tree.  A few Sparkles, and the tree was done!

I can't wait to show you my other two cards like this...the same, but different!  ;)

Angel Friends Wall Hanging

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a good weekend so far.

Sorry for the big tease on my FB page showing you this too soon...my posts got a bit out of hand this week trying to catch up!  Well, I finally am, and here is this adorable wall hanging I made for a friend's daughter.  She chose the bible verse to encourage her daughter to not be afraid, and I think it is a wonderful reminder!  In case you can't see it, it is 2 Timothy 1:7  "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."

I just adore this little angel!  She is found on the Angel Friends My Acrylix in the new Holidays from the Heart Holiday Gift Guide out NOW from Close to My Heart!  I colored her and the flowers from the same stamp set with my Alcohol Ink Markers and added some bling!

I made this bow removable by adding a little hook and loop dot to the back.  I can't believe I never thought of this before!!!

The bow does a fantastic job of hiding the plastic holder!

I hope you are inspired by this verse as well as the project today!  Have a fearless day!  :)
