Mermaid Monday Take 2!

I thought I would squeeze in another quick episode of "Mermaid Monday" before the day gets away from me.  Between home inspections and negotiations, my head is spinning and I need a craft break today even if it is just to share a past creation.  :)

Last month I made a great little card from THIS beautiful artwork I found on Pinterest.

It was not too difficult to use the PIN to create the Little Mermaid using a combination of buttons, sparkles, and sequins from my stash, and I absolutely loved the final result!

The custom sentiment was written by my trusty Cricut Explore...

I wish I could take credit for any of this beautiful card, but the sentiment idea came directly from the awesome mother of the recipient!  Isn't it perfect!!!  :)

Have you guys had any Pinterest wins lately?

Mermaid Monday

This post is a little late, but it IS still Monday (as I type), right?  Summer finally arrived today and the kids needed to eat, lol, so I was a bit distracted!

I made this "do not disturb" sign as a request from a special customer for her daughter's birthday.  It was going to be hung on the birthday girl's front door to ward off any interruptions to her crafty time!  (What a GREAT MOM!!!!)  :)

Anyhow, I was absolutely tickled with how it came together--even better than I originally imagined!  I can finally share it since the day has passed, lol!

The Close to My Heart Zoe paper packet has a houndstooth pattern that worked beautifully as mermaid scales along with Glacier, Lagoon, and Crystal Blue CS, and some Teal Glitter Paper.  The Champagne CS is the best peachy flesh-tone I have found, so I cut the door hanger on it using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.

Now, a bit more about those scales...they were another PERFECT creation with the CTMH Thumb Notch Punch!   Remember the Minions I made HERE?  SO many uses for this bad boy...

I used my Cricut Explore to write the sign (my customer thought of the PERFECT wording!) and cut out the seashells...

I colored some retired Rosette Ribbon with my Peacock ShinHan Marker for a nice finish to her tail.

Yes, yes, that IS a little bellybutton, HAHAHAHAAAAA!  She needed to have one!  I just LOVE it when a plan comes together!  :)

A Little Mermaid Birthday Card

I always LOVE when a customer returns for another one of my card creations.  You know what is even BETTER though?  When the card you are asked to make is for one of your BFFs!

Yesterday was my friend, Beth's birthday, and I am finally able to share the special shaker card I was able to create.  :)

There just isn't an easy way to capture a card with so much bling going on, lol.  The light bounces every which way.  I used my Close to My Heart Teal Glitter Paper, Lagoon, Glacier, Sweet Leaf, and Champagne CS, and Kraft paper for this one, as well as some clear acetate packaging and misc. loose sequins.

The little mermaid is found on the Cricut Life's a Beach Cartridge.  Let me tell you I haven't touched a cartridge other than my CTMH carts in FOREVER!  I used the coordinating card cut feature as well (seriously, who knew THAT was on there?) to create an adorable shaker feature.

The happy birthday sentiment is found on the Joyful Birthday My Acrylix.

Here is a peek at some of the details of the cut...

It was relatively easy to line everything up size-wise on the free Cricut Explore Design Space software, but I was reeeeeeeally missing my Relative Size button.  I still have a lot of learning to do on my machine!  :)

I hope this card inspires you to try out some of YOUR Cricut cartridges collecting dust!

Project Life Week One Re-Do and Last Chance for Year Noted!

The month has quietly slipped away from me, and today is the 31st of January!  I have several pages finished for the month, yay!!!  My Canon Selphy has proven to be quite the little workhorse to get my life down in the books.  I am a happy scrapper to say the least.  :)

I wanted to show you this page re-do today (here is my original and unfortunate beginning) in case you were inspired to grab the Year Noted Kit from my website today which will be your last chance!

The other cards I used for this page are from the Chalk It Up Picture My Life Kit.
I adore these little banners for making strings of embellies!  I also love the dotted line and check-box stamps for journaling lists of anything and everything!

You knew you would see this little image in my pages again, didn't you?  Glitter Glam is such a fun set!  I had a leftover scrap of White Daisy CS with the reverse part of a Scallop Border Punch to it...waste not, want not!  The Teal Glitter paper and the Chalk It Up products were a match made in scrapbook heaven!

Teal Glitter Paper?  YES, Please!
That little heart stamped my my niece and nephew pooches is found in this month's Stamp of the Month, so you might want to check it out too before the end of the day!  ;)  If for any reason you don't get this until January is over, and you REALLY want to get your hands on it, shoot me a message and I will try to help!  :)

THESE My Acrylix Stamps will definitely be unavailable after today, however, so check out the retiring list NOW!  ;)

Mojo Monday Heartstrings Love!

I am in LOVE with this paper, I tell you!  AND of course, I still love Mojo Monday Challenges when I get to play along...so is this a great combo or what?  :)

Here is the sketch for Mojo Monday 379 by the talented Julee Tilman...

 Here is my Valentine...

The adorable sentiment and coordinating papers are found in the Heartstrings Paper Packet and Workshop on the Go from Close to My Heart.  I stamped and inked with Whisper Exclusive Ink--a Dye ink that dries quickly and beautifully.

A Red Enamel Heart added JUST the right touch!

This gorgeous ribbon came in my latest Verve order...I could not resist their sale after Christmas, and wow did this color coordinate perfectly with the paper!

Can you see the peeks of Teal and Silver Glitter Paper?  I love that bit of sparkle it adds.

Have you ever played along at Mojo Monday?  Come give it a try!  :)

Guest Designer for Atlantic Hearts!

Hi everyone!  I am so excited to be the guest designer at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge today!  :)

I LOVE following some of my amazing Close to My Heart consultant friends to see what they are up to with both new and old products.  It is a GREAT way to get inspired.  (It is also a crazy way to find out you and your friends have the SAME creative ideas sometimes, which you will notice if you played along last week!)

Here is this week's sketch to play along with...

Now, here is my sweet creation with the current Stamp of the Month, Home for the Holidays!

I am ALWAYS ready to warm up my new Cricut Explore, and this stamp set coordinates with the Art Philosophy Collection!  I cut the postage stamp and frame both at the size listed on the carrier sheet that comes with our My Acrylix stamps.  :)

This sugar bear is full of the spirit of the season.  I used a sentiment from the Hostess ONLY Rewards Set called Sweet As Sugar...

I think this makes such a great addition to the candies in the Stamp of the Month!  It is truly a must-have!

This year, I am enjoying the cool color combo from the Snowhaven Paper Packet for winter creations.  I am also STILL loving the sparkle in the Close to My Heart Glitter Paper and Shimmer Trim that I used to add little accents...

I added a little interest to the inside of the card with a simple image from the front...

Guess what!?  I found another sentiment on YET ANOTHER fantastic Hostess ONLY Rewards Stamp for this one!

It is called Happy Hexagons, and you can ONLY get one by hosting an in-home or online gathering, by placing your order of $150 or more with me, OR by joining my Rewards Club!  Contact me today so you can get your hands on these fantastic products and join in on all the fun over at Atlantic Hearts!  :)

BIG thanks to Michelle for asking me to join them this week!  :)

Don't wait to get your own Stamp of the Month for October...you only have three more days!  ;)

National Stamping Month #30yearsofhappy Blog Hop!

Welcome to our hop!

If you arrived from Haley's Blog, then you are on the right path!  This hop is a big circle, so keep on going!  You can find the entire line-up of talented Close to My Heart Consultants on Melinda's Blog.

September is National Stamping month!  We are celebrating over at Close to My Heart with a very special new My Acrylix set that you can't buy...but you CAN get it for FREE!  Take a peek at what I did with #30yearsofhappy...

I combined the HAPPY papers of Confetti Wishes with my very own pattern paper made with one of the little stamps!  I made sure to stamp the pattern on an area bigger than I needed so that I could trim out the piece of CS just how I liked it...

It was really easy to trim out the Happy Birthday sentiment from the pattern paper.  Then I placed it upside down on the backside of the teal glitter paper to draw an outline to fit as a mat...

Popped it up with foam tape for some great dimension...

And I even trimmed out some other images from the paper to decorate the inside!  :)

Now you are off to Priscilla's Blog for quite a treat!  Enjoy the rest of the hop!

Remember, you can't buy this special My Acrylix set...you can only get it for FREE in September.  Just purchase $30 dollars worth of CTMH stamps on my website, and #30yearsofhappy (a $13.95 value) is all yours!
