One More Watercolor

I had some more watercolored paper to use after my jawsome shark, so I decided to use up some other stamped and colored Lawn Fawn images and die cuts in my stash.

And if you're going to make a card, you might as well make it a shaker!!! Am I right?   ;)

Shaker window cards are deceptively easy to create if you have some clear packaging (for instance from those cricut cartridges you bought, lol,) 3D foam, and a handful of items to create the "shake." It also makes it super easier if you have any die cuts.  I used my Oval Thin Cuts from CTMH, loose sequins from my stash and added some paper fish from the Mermaid for You stamps and dies that I had already created.  I colored all my images with the ShinHan Touch Twin Alcohol Ink Markers and Copics.

That adorable plaid paper is also from Lawn Fawn. I drool over it each time I see it!  My watercolor supplies and white dots are from Close to My Heart.  I used the leftover MCT stitched frame from my jawsome card, and just trimmed it to the right size...it is definitely times like these that I am happy to be a hoarder keeper of paper scraps!

Finally I used some loose twine and die cut banners from the LF Box Card Die set to create my sentiment.  The alphabet letters are the Pen Pal Alphabet by CTMH.  This is definitely one of my go-to alphas!

It was GREAT to use up some of the leftovers piling up on my workspace!  Are you a scrap keeper or tosser?

One More on Wednesday!

I know, I know!  I couldn't help the corny post title.  I LOVE IT!!!  ;)

Here is the last of the versions I made featuring these products.  Really the only thing I changed about this round was the color scheme.  If you want the details, check them out on yesterday's post HERE.

I made a whole bunch of different versions this time...wasn't crazy about the red washi version as the color was a little off, but I could just be picky, lol.  My favorite one is the Santa border though!  Another fantastic zip strip from the City Sidewalks Paper Packet!  These products will unfortunately be leaving with the Holiday Expressions Idea Book as soon as they are out of stock--or when December (and 2016) is over whichever comes first!

Are you ready for Christmas???  One more day of work for me...then winter break!!!  YES!!!

Show Them the Love!

Just wanted to give you a quick peek at THIS awesome idea a friend shared on Facebook.  I have been having a great time every night placing more hearts on their doors!  I was even able to use my new MCT stamps and dies to add a little note to this one...

That little paper clip is my silver glitter paper cut with an MCT die!!!  It IS!  :)

It isn't too late to get in on the action!  :)

Freshly Made Aqua Shimmer Trim

Do you ever just NOT have enough time to make everything you want to with your paper stash?  I have totally been in those shoes lately, but feel like I made it out a little slump today.  I was able to use the fabulous sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches to make a darling little card for my Aunt.

I usually don't give this mush sway to the shapes on a sketch, so I am kinda proud of myself for stretching my imagination on this one.  :)   Would you believe that every single piece of paper/vellum on this card was already cut or lying on my desk?  Yep.  It all came together in a shabby chic sort of conglomerate, lol.

I used my alcohol ink marker to color in one of the Gold Bling Gems.
Here is a list of supplies I used to make this one...

Close to My Heart:
For Family My Acrylix Stamp Set
Artfully Sent (flowers), Artistry (twigs), and Art Philosophy (sentiment shape) Collections
Hopscotch, Snowhaven, and Seaside Paper Packets (retired)
Black and Lagoon Inks
Aqua Shimmer Trim
Glacier Extra Thick Twine
Gold Bling Gems

Happy Birthday, Sister!

My sister turns 40 today so I got her a pair of reading glasses--she's totally going to need them.  I am the big sister, so I just KNOW this is a fact, OK.  She might be taller than me, but I will ALWAYS be the big sister.

I made her a special card with the retiring Gypsy Heart patterned paper from the Paper Fundamentals Adventure Palette from Close to My Heart.  Yep, I realize it isn't Fundamental Friday yet, but I had to get this one in today!  ;)

I used a couple of stamp sets for this card:  Playful Pups from Mama Elephant, and the Jumping Geometrics Background stamps from Close to My Heart to give the blanket some texture.  I do need to learn a bit more coloring technique, but I LOVE coloring!

See the special sheen of the embossed hearts on this side of the paper?
I used some of my MCT stitched dies to frame out the main part of the card and another from Mama Elephant to cut the edge of the blanket.

Love adding a simple touch to the inside of a card!
Happiest of birthdays to you sis!  Cannot wait to celebrate it with you!  :)

Lawnscaping Challenges with Critters!

One of my all time favorite brands of acrylic stamps is Lawn Fawn for their hands down adorably cute critters.  Well, the talented DT over at Lawnscaping Challenges is having a CRITTER CHALLENGE!!!

Knock, knock.
(Who's there..)
Ya.
(Ya who?)
I KNOW!!!!  I'm excited toooooo!    ;)

This card was for a special little friend who was in the hospital.  The little nurse bird sure stole my heart...

I love band aids.  They really do make anything feel better!

I also love bending my acrylic stamps into new shapes...

Is a band aid a critter if it has a face?  ;)
Thanks for taking a peek at my critter card.  I will be back with another!  :)

Freshly Made For My Little Friend

School is OUT for the summer!  While that is super news for my crafting time, it also means I am going to be missing my little school friends.  I took advantage of the adorable sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches this week to make a little card for one of them...

When I saw the release of this set from Mama Elephant, I realized right away that my pockets would be a bit lighter, lol.  The sentiment and elephant are just perfect together!  I added a banner and balloon from my MCT stitched dies with some playful color provided by the Taste of Summer Paper Packet from CTMH.  The awesome green pattern is found in the Blossom Paper Packet.

CTMH Whisper Ink and CS for the elephant and Taste of Summer paper for the balloon.

MCT banner die using CTMH Taste of Summer papers (including my fave zip strip!)
I know my little friend is going to love it!  Can't wait to get more inky fingers this summer!

Just two more days to get YOUR Taste of Summer coordinating paper and stamps AND to play along with Freshly Made Sketches!  :)

Taste of Summer My Acrylix with coordinating juicy sentiments!

Sticky Boy and the CTMH March Stamp of the Month Choose Happy

March is here, but where, OH, where is spring?  Here in the Midwest, well, actually, pretty much all over the USA, winter has a tight grip on us.  Thankfully, that hasn't stopped our fantastic Stamp of the Month program at Close to My Heart!  :)

I recently received a fantastic gift from my upline, Mandy--a limited edition Sticky Boy stamp!  She received them as a sales incentive promotion, and was excited to pass the duplicate Sticky Boys along to us.  The wonderful ladies on the Damask Divas Team nominated several teammates to receive him, and I was one!  I was so excited when he arrived!  Thanks, you guys!

I inked him up along with the new Choose Happy Stamp of the Month and made a special kind of shaker card...

There is a window in the card front that lets the sentiment inside the card show through!  This was very easy, so if you can get through this picture-heavy post, you will be all set to try one yourself!

First, I used my stitched circle dies from MCT to create all the circle cuts.  If you are using a pattern paper on the front of the card, attach it before you cut the circle.  Also, cut the circle in the CS that will cover the inside of your card to hide the acetate (but don't attach this one yet.)  Attach a rectangle of acetate packaging (mine is from cricut cartridges, lol) over the circle on the card front AFTER you stamp your sentiment through it for placement. I used my ATG to attach all my acetate and it worked perfectly.

You will need a ring of CS cut with the INNER circle the same diameter as the one on the card.  The acetate circle will be the same size as the larger circle of the ring in diameter.

Attach the acetate circle to the ring.  Then back the acetate side with foam tape to give your sequins space to move around.

My sequins from a Lawn Fawn package matched the colors for my card perfectly!  I lay them on the front of my card on the acetate circle and covered them with this circle...

Finally, cover the inside of your card front with the CS to hide the acetate...I used Crystal Blue to match the ring of CS on the front.

Now you can finish decorating the front of your card!  :)

Fussy cutting Sticky Boy...did you know he has his own FB Page?
Up in the top corner I stamped and cut out two balloons.  Then I used a swirly stamp from Choose Happy to make the balloon string.  I drew the second one in to match the swirly style...

I HAD to use the Purple Glitter Paper to make one of the balloons--I just stamped the BACK side of the paper.

I stamped Sticky Boy on the back-side of the Confetti Wishes pattern to give him a striped balloon.  Then I stamped him again on Crystal Blue SC to add that adorbs party hat.  Then I colored in the dots with the Marine Blue ShinHan Touch Twin Marker.  A little bit of bling from the Purple Glitter Gems finished it off nicely.

Finally, a strip of Silver Shimmer Trim and a few rows of the scallopy edge stamp from Choose Happy in Thistle, Crystal Blue, and Pacifica, and it was finished!  :)

Remember, the Stamp of the Month I used here is only around for ONE month to order, so don't wait for the snow to disappear, lol!  :)

Hello, Tag (You're It!) Tuesday!

I just have a super-quick tag to show you today that I whipped up for a baby gift...that I still have to deliver!  Oooops!

I recently picked up this awesome cork sheet stack from DCWV, so I wanted to use it for a nice, large tag.  I used the MCT stitched tag die and mounted it on the Into the Woods LF paper...it was super-easy to trim it out.

I love this scripty "hello" die from Lawn Fawn, and I paired it up with a wonderful new globe image found on the Close to My Heart My Acrylix, Here We Go that debuted in August.  I cut a 1.75 inch circle with my new Cricut Explore and stamped it in CTMH Sweet Leaf Exclusive Ink.

Together, I think these make a fitting sentiment to welcome a new baby to the world!  :)

If you enjoy tag-making like I do, be sure to check out this GREAT new Stamp of the Month for October on my website!

The Chevron Ribbon has completely run out with the October Ribbon Revelry special!  Don't worry, though, you will still receive a FREE ribbon or trim with a qualifying purchase.  In fact, hat Slate Diagonal Ribbon I used to attach my tag just might be your freebie!  I love a good mystery!  Just be sure to add the freebie to your cart when prompted!  :)
