Makeover Monday!

Hello!!!

Makeover Monday is back in a BIG way!  I am pretty excited over this one, you see, because I haven't had a workshop in what seems like AGES.  Well, this weekend I buckled down and scheduled a Christmas Workshop!!!

One of the gift tags we will be making uses the perfectly beautiful plaid paper from the Close to My Heart Cut Above 'Tis the Season Card Kit.  I ADORE this little piece of paper, you guys!

You will just have to imagine the string on this one as I was in a hurry to get my workshop email out today...but I can't WAIT to show you the rest of my creative session!  See you soon!

Here are the other CTMH products I used to make this one....

CC1157 Thin Cuts Wreath

Tag (You're It!) Tuesday Makes Everything Christmas!

I am in for a quick post today, and SOOOOO glad to report that technology and I have kissed and made up!  ;)

Here are the four tags I have so far for my upcoming Everything Christmas Workshop on Saturday...

Have a closer look at this one...I used the retired green glitter paper (only available until they run out!) on the tree tag image from the Cricut Artistry Cartridge!  Is that a sparkly tree, or what!?

Tomorrow I will show you another one of the workshop cards, so come back to see!

Makeover Monday Java Tags

How about a bit of Java to start off your work week?  Alright!

Here are the first two tags I made with this adorable cut found on the NEW Cricut Artistry Cartridge exclusively available from Close to My Heart.  Nothing fancy, but that's what I love the most!

I used Kraft paper and simply added a sweet little glitter heart from the Enamel and Glitter Duos.

This one sports a cute little pattern from the Zoe paper packet and some limited quantity Ruby chevron washi tape.

I love the idea of tying one of these onto a birthday gift or as a thank you to someone.  I gave the tags a bit of a makeover for the upcoming holidays...and we will be making the Christmas version at my class on Saturday with the ladies of Crafty Souls.  At 3.25 inches high, they are the perfect size now.  :)

Can't you just taste the Pumpkin Spice Latte?  I added a sweet little Cricut shaped leaf from Artiste (I think!) and a sentiment from the Cup of Cheer My Acrylix.

The holly and berries are also found on the Artistry Cartridge with the cup of Java.  The Fern Thick Twine is the perfect color coordinated tie-on!

I can't wait to create with the ladies at Our Lady of Mercy on Saturday!  Thanks for stopping in today, and have a great week!  :)

Tag (You're It!) Tuesday with a NEW Challenge!

I am just coming off the HIGH of a three-day crafty weekend, so don't mind all the exclamations and smilies today, OK?  :)  Thanks!!!

I stumbled upon a new (to me!) challenge that me thinks has my name ALL over it!  It's called the Sparkle and Shine Challenge!  Yes, really!  This week, the challenge is to make tags.  I don't have the sequins suggested to play along, BUT I sure do like the looks of em--so I MUST pick some up for future challenges.

I happen to be designing some tags for an upcoming class, so here is one of the sets I came up with!

I think they definitely need some sequins!  ;)
I cut all the pieces of these tags using my Cricut Explore machine and the Close to My Heart Artistry Cartridge

The patterned papers and stamps are from the White Pines Scrapbook Workshop on the Go.

My personal fave of the three...

I used my ShinHan Carmine Alcohol Marker to color in the berries.

I adore using this new Fern Thick Twine for tags!
Thanks for popping in to my blog today!  See you again soon!

Close to My Heart Pathfinding Workshop on the Go Tag

Happy Hump Day!  I wanted to pop in this week to give you a look at the second project that I am teaching at my All-Day Craft Event on Saturday.  This one is a great little tag to use on something for the hostess with the mostest on Thanksgiving...

I used two of the stamps from the Pathfinding Workshop on the Go Cardmaking Kit for this one.

The rest of the tag comes together very quickly with a few fantastically shiny Close to My Heart products...

The tag shape AND the sentiment shape are both found on the Cricut Artiste Cartridge.

I also used the following...
Bronze Shimmer Trim
Bling Gems Gold Assortment
Sequins Gold Assortment
Pathfinding Assortment
Kraft CS
Chocolate Exclusive Ink

Tag (You're It!) Tuesday

I made another of my popular personalized baby name frames as a gift for my husband's co-worker recently.  It was a really busy time, and I didn't have time to get wrapping paper.  I did have some kraft bags in my stash, so I just whipped up a cute little tag to add with some ribbon...

It really is amazing what you can do with some basic supplies on hand!  These Slate Striped Twist Ties from Close to My Heart are one of my favorite crafty supplies to keep around.  It was the perfect thing to use to attach my tag to the ribbon.  :)

The stamp is from MCT and the cute wooden heart is a retired CTMH embellishment.

Tag (You're It!) Tuesday Heads to the Beach in Protest

THAT'S IT!!!  I cannot take another second of winter, so I am protesting with a beachy themed post.

*crosses arms over chest and stomps foot*

Who wants to join me in warm thoughts?  Let's go!

I created this little package for a pair of earrings my daughter and her friends are giving a classmate who is moving to Florida...and I am so jealous!  ;)

I took one of our retired paper pouches, and covered it with the retired Footloose Paper.  Yes, there is another theme her...retired people go to FL, and I used a lot of retired products because I want to go too!  ;)  (Yes, I am pouting, and if you are stuck in an endless winter like Anna, then you would too.)

Here is the tag!  This is one of my favorite shapes from the Artiste Cricut collection!  It is thankfully NOT retired, lol.  The stamp I used for the swirly outline is actually from the Artbooking Cricut Collection, though, and I just love how it fits this shape!  The To and From are found on the Holiday Tags My Acrylix.

I attached the Sunset button with a glue dot to the flap, and strung the Paradise Baker's Twine through two holes punched to the back to keep the pouch closed in a neat and tidy way.

The Footloose Workshop on the Go My Acrylix set was perfect to complete my beachy theme.  I used the rock and roll technique to ink my stamps with the lighter color all over and then rolling the edges in the darker color before stamping...LOVE the result!  I used Creme Brulee rolled in Sunset  for the starfish and Sweet Leaf rolled in Lagoon for the seahorse.  There is a strip of Teal Shimmer Trim sparkling behind them...

Now, don't we feel better after that refreshing visual trip to the beach?  ;)

Sigh.  Spring break cannot come fast enough...

Tag (You're It) Tuesday Time!

 TAG!  You're it!

Sooooo how many of you love to make a tag or two here or there?  I love the freedom of making tags and love to pull one off just to mix up my week.  I am hoping to start a new traditional Tag (You're It!) Tuesday on my blog.  Wish me luck in remembering...lol!

Let's kick it off with a tag full of love!  I made this one for two different challenges.  First, I am getting my PINK on with Dynamic Duos where they are having a two-tone pink challenge, so go check them out if you like pink!

Also, CAS(E) this Sketch has a new challenge posted for the week that I thought would work BEAUTIFULLY on a tag along with my new Close to My Heart Scallop Border Punch!  :)

I started off with a plain chipboard tag from the Art Philosophy coordinating Dimensional Elements and cut a piece of White Daisy CS to fit.  I used a Finishing File to sand down all the edges to match perfectly before decorating it.  I love these handy little tools!  Here is a quick pic:

I always like to check my stash of leftover cuts before cutting more, and I happened to have this "love u" word bubble stamped in Cotton Candy pink and all ready to go!  Anyone else have a stash of leftover cuts?  They are great to recycle for later!  This one is from the Cricut Artiste Collection--both the cut and the stamp come with the set.

See the little hearts behind the bubble?  Those are on the Retired Whooo's Your Valentine My Acrylix if you happen to have one.  If you don't have one, I have TWO for sale over in my Flee Market!

I used my Cotton Candy CS along with the retired Baby Pink CS to cut 1/2 inch scallop borders that were then layered onto the tag.   My Silver Shimmer Trim is a bit of an attention hound, so I had to add a bit to give it a piece of the limelight.  ;)

WHO remembers this button???  This is a spare button from one of my daughter's back to school shirts, lol!!!  I totally claimed it when I was cutting off the tags to wash her clothes.  How could I not???  :)

Thanks for popping in, and I hope you tune in next Tuesday for another Tag (You're It!)

Remember!  Never let anyone steal YOUR sparkle!  :)

Happy 90th Birthday, Grandma Florida!

I finally finished Grandma's Bookmark Album, and not a minute too soon, lol!  Close to My Heart has retired this little album since they have introduced a new Cricut Artbooking Cartridge that virtually replaces it, so it is no longer available, but I wanted to show it to you anyway!  :)  I used the gorgeous Avonlea Paper Packet which has also been retired and is out of stock--of course!  Next time I won't procrastinate, lol!  ;)

Here it is!

The great-grandkids all got to write a little note to her that I tucked in to little hidden pockets.

I really wanted to make envelope-style pockets for the letters from the kids, but that made the album way too bulky to close.  Instead, I settled on adhering two sides of a decorated piece of CS.

I cut these tags for my girls to write their messages on and tucked them in with the ribbons sticking out a little file-folder style pocket for easy removal...I added a sticker to the tab after looking at these pics, lol!  ;)  The great thing about do-it-yourself projects is that you can always do-it-yourself some more!

I could not wait to pretty-up the binding rings with some ribbons and hemp!  :)

I added these velcro dot closures to help it stay closed better with all that is inside...

We are probably partying it up with the birthday girl as you read, so enjoy!  :)  This is the perfect gift for the grandma who has everything and wants nothing...can't wait until she opens it!  :)
