Monochromatic Color

Happy Friday!

Have you ever tried a monochromatic color scheme?  When I saw the challenge over at My Creative Time this week, I could NOT pass up the chance to try one in all white!  Emma's example inspired me to give it a try!

When I think of white, I think of weddings--well, I DO!  ;)

So, I dug out some of my MCT dies and stamps and got to work!  I used the Small and Medium Bow Dies, Chunky Jar Accessories, and the Embossed Gift Card Holder Die.

I used my brand new Damask Embossing Folder from Close to My Heart to emboss my White Daisy CS in my Sizzix Big Shot.  I only inserted the top half of the card so the rest would remain flat.  LOVE that effect.

Isn't this bow just the right embellishment for a wedding?  I cut the Medium Bow from vellum and the Small Bow from White Daisy CS.  Then I layered them to assemble the bow with lots of POOF!  Afterward, I painted the vellum with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter brush....

This dainty little tag is stamped using my CTMH White Daisy Pigment Ink.  It looks very elegant on the vellum.  You can see the pretty embossed edge on the gift card holder in the picture below.  I thought a few Bitty Opaque Pearl were JUST the perfect thing to finish this one off!  :)

I want to do more now...both with the vellum AND with a white color scheme!  Already working on it...show you soon!  :)

Only available in March!  $17.95 or $5 with a $50 purchase!

MCT ABC Challenge!

Happy Fat Tuesday!  I have such a FUN card to share with you today!

I received my BRAND NEW My Creative Time products from Emma's latest release, and after I got over the surprise of having bought the same set twice (oopsie!) I was literally busting to try them out!

They are having an ABC challenge on their blog right now, so I decided to play along with the letter "C" because I REALLY wanted to use the new Hello, Chickie die!  I used the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch to get me started...

Alright, so, the letter "c" is for "chick".  It is also for the "Cricut Cartridge" that I used for my "curly cue" frame!  I used the Close to My Heart exclusive Artbooking Cartridge which is hands down one of my go-to cartridges.  I also used "Cardstock" for the parts of my "Card."  The "colors" are Pear, Gypsy, Honey, Sunset, White Daisy, and Black.

The sentiment is from another MCT set, More of My Favorite Sayings.  It is a "classic."  ;)

Don't you love the fun Mardi Gras Chickie?  I happened to catch sight of the bow die from the same set upside down, and thought it would make a lovely superhero mask!  Instead, I turned it into the perfect mask for Mardi Gras--and a fun way to coordinate the sentiment to the chick!  I thought it was rather "clever" myself, lol.  A few CTMH retired opaques round out my ABC's!  ;)  Since this one has pearls, it is also being linked up over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog for their pearly theme.  Guess that is another "c" then for challenge!

Thanks for popping in today to see the fun I whipped up!  Now I know my ABC's, next time won't you play with me?  See you soon!

MCT Designer's Challenge Birthday Card Using the Artiste Cartridge

Good morning me hearties!  Oh, that's right, it isn't "Talk Like a Pirate Day" anymore, ooops!  ;)

Today I have a cute little, FAST card to share with you.  Besides the adorable Stitched Cloud Dies from MCT, my favorite part about this one is how QUICKLY it came together!

I used a sheet of Sky CS and sanded down the edges and into the the paper a little ways to soften up the background.  The two shapes for the sun are cut in Buttercup and Honey CS with the Close to My Heart Cricut Artiste Cartridge on my E2 cutting machine.  The sweet, floating red balloon is an image on the same Cartridge.  The matching balloon stamp comes with the Artiste set, and fits the cut perfectly.  There is normally a little "shine" cut out in the balloon shape, so I used the Cricut Craft Room to hide it.  The balloon string is even a stamp!  I was able to bend it to just the right shape since the stamps are clear acrylic.  So versatile!

Speaking of versatile and QUICK, the sentiment is found on the CTMH Holiday Tags My Acrylix...one of my go-to stamps right now!

I am linking up today with the My Creative Time Designer's Challenge: Birthday!  :)

Did I mention how this card came together LICKITY-SPLIT!?  ;)

What's Black and White and Stamped All Over?

My latest card!!!  Hee, hee!

I was so inspired by THIS amazing card by fellow consultant Wendy Coffman, that I just had to get my butt moving and make one similar, but with a whole new spin on the sentiment!

I have always been intrigued by the way the letters H and I fall next to each other in the alphabet...

I am linking this version of my card up with the My Creative Time Black and White Challenge.

The sentiment is ABSOLUTELY the focus of this card.  I stamped it using the Close to My Heart Framework Alphabet My Acrylix set in White Daisy Pigment Ink on Black CS.  I adore this new alphabet that mimics the chalkboard look perfectly.  It also coordinates with our new M size stamps as well.  The polka-dot trim at the top and bottom is made from a zip strip in the For Always Paper Packet.  Then, whammo, this sparkly glitter button from the Mini Medley Accents Black Collection catches your eye!

To add some interest inside, I stamped the main sentiment again in black for the opposite effect...

Now to re-focus on that sparkly "HI" sentitment.  Did you think we finally had white glitter paper from CTMH?  NOPE!  Not yet anyway, lol.  I tried to choose between chalking it in and filling it with glitter, and settled for BOTH!  I used my White Chalk Marker to color in my Silver Glitter Paper!  :)  I wanted to stay true to the black and white challenge, so this option was both innovative, sparkly, AND allowed!  ;)

FYI--it is hard to take a pic of yourself coloring!  ;)

OK, so just for fun, I used some leftover cuts and my Peachy Keen faces to transform my card into a FANTASTIC welcome card to give my daughter's teacher when we visit her classroom tomorrow night.  What do you think?

I think it will be a hit!  :)  THIS version of my card is linking up with the the Heart 2 Heart Sentimant-ally Yours Challenge for August.  It was my DT's week off, but I could not resist playing along!
