Lawnscaping Challenges Rides Again!

Finally!!!  I found some free time today and created a whirlwind of cards.  Oh, I so wish I could do that every day.  It felt GREAT!!!!

One of the cards I made is for the current Lawnscaping Challenge--Embossing!

I have had bits and pieces of this card sitting around for a while, but I finally got it all pulled together.  Do you ever start a project only to be distracted by something else?  Yeah, me too.  Too often, I am afraid!  What was I saying?  ;)

I just love the new Love You S'more sets from Lawn Fawn, and they finally helped me pull this card all together!

I made this speech bubble greeting for the card back when I first bought the dies...and then didn't get any further because of other projects...

These little marshmallows are just adorbs.  How can anyone possibly resist them!  I quickly discovered that you do NOT even need to stamp the images for these dies!  They totally work all on their own!

For the challenge, I dry embossed a piece of Sweet Leaf CS with the Close to My Heart Damask Folder.  This was also a left over from another card I made a while ago.  It was just right for my grassy knoll.  ;)

See what's missing on this card?  My trademark sparkle is not there--and there is a big reason!  I am building up my stash of cards to send away to Operation Write Home this summer.  NO glitter means NO way, so I am steering clear in an effort to send more cards.  Don't worry, I will slip some in here and there, but I have GOT to focus to be able to hold off!  ;)

Don't forget to check out the June Stamp of the Month over at my Close to My Heart website...it's GREAT for more Operation Write Home cards!

AND, remember, JUNE is my birthday month, so YOU get presents!!!  Everyone who makes a $40 purchase this month will get a FREE gift from ME!  What will YOU get for my birthday?  :)

Crazy May Continues with Confirmation

Welcome back to my little corner of the blog world!  I have a super-easy card today to give you a little inspiration.

The May crazies are crazier than usual this year when you throw in my niece's confirmation last week.  It is tricky to find a card for this kind of occasion without a visit to some specialty store...UNLESS you have some wonderful cardmaking supplies handy!  ;)

I used one of my all time favorite bible verses from Verve Stamps as the sentiment and possibly my favorite pattern paper from the Close to My Heart Ariana Paper Packet...

The grey CS is also included in the Ariana packet.  I stamped the verse and edged all the pattern paper in Slate ink that matched nicely.

See the embossed pattern in the background?  I used my Sizzix Big Shot machine and Damask Embossing Folder on a sheet of packaging from a frame I bought, lol.  I even used it in the layers of the die cut flower from MCT!  LOVE how that worked out!

Hello, You Wonderful Sketch!

Happy WEEEEEKEND!!!  In case you are NOT a scrapbooker, today is National Scrapbooking Day, so I will be celebrating quite a bit in my craft cave with my papers and pictures.  :)

Before I get all down to serious scrappin' though, I wanted to share my latest entry for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge Blog.  It has been quite a while since I had time to play along!  This gorgeous sketch was JUST perfect to jump in on!

I was soooo ready to break out the Hello Wonderful My Acrylix for the round element of this sketch--and I have reeeeeealy been wanting to stamp it in White Daisy Pigment Ink--on Kraft!  I thought the Ariana Paper Packet had just the right floral pattern to go along with...and JUST happened to have a left-over border from a mini album to use!  (Pssst...always save those extra cuts!)

I embossed the Ariana Green CS in my Sizzix Big Shot using one of the new Embossing folders from Close to My Heart--a beautiful Damask to match the pattern on the stamp.

I have been playing with vellum quite a bit lately, and I think it added the perfect softness to the lines in the sketch...

Now, I decided after the fact to add some Bronze Shimmer Trim to this one...I cannot believe how wishy-washy I have been lately about what to add or not to my projects...

I think it is safe to say that a little bit of shimmer trim never hurt anything!  ;)

Have a great time celebrating National Scrapbooking Day!  There are TONS of online events today.  Are you going to be playing along with any?

Here is the paper packet that Close to My Heart is celebrating with this month--it is called Free to Be Me, and you can pick one up for just $5 in May!

Monochromatic Color

Happy Friday!

Have you ever tried a monochromatic color scheme?  When I saw the challenge over at My Creative Time this week, I could NOT pass up the chance to try one in all white!  Emma's example inspired me to give it a try!

When I think of white, I think of weddings--well, I DO!  ;)

So, I dug out some of my MCT dies and stamps and got to work!  I used the Small and Medium Bow Dies, Chunky Jar Accessories, and the Embossed Gift Card Holder Die.

I used my brand new Damask Embossing Folder from Close to My Heart to emboss my White Daisy CS in my Sizzix Big Shot.  I only inserted the top half of the card so the rest would remain flat.  LOVE that effect.

Isn't this bow just the right embellishment for a wedding?  I cut the Medium Bow from vellum and the Small Bow from White Daisy CS.  Then I layered them to assemble the bow with lots of POOF!  Afterward, I painted the vellum with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter brush....

This dainty little tag is stamped using my CTMH White Daisy Pigment Ink.  It looks very elegant on the vellum.  You can see the pretty embossed edge on the gift card holder in the picture below.  I thought a few Bitty Opaque Pearl were JUST the perfect thing to finish this one off!  :)

I want to do more now...both with the vellum AND with a white color scheme!  Already working on it...show you soon!  :)

Only available in March!  $17.95 or $5 with a $50 purchase!
