Summertime Fun Challenges!

Time for another challenge!  Ummmm...make that two!  ;)

Both Lawn Fawnatics and the Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog have issued Summertime Challenges this week! How could a crafty girl resist???

I'm SO excited to share this super fun box card I made for one of my BFFs...it includes THE most fantastic of summer themes: ocean beachy water fun!

Lawn Fawn sure hit the nail on the head with this box card die.  It makes the box card process practically painless!  Easy button?  OK!  This is what it looks like before you add all the pretties...

I did add the waves and sand from other LF border dies, but you get the gist.  ;)
Then you get to start creating a scene!  I used the mermazing LF Mermaid for You stamps and dies...

With a box card, you can decorate the inside, outside, anything you like! I used the banner dies included in the box card set to make some fancy party decor.  It is especially fun to use some clear packaging or leftover carrier sheets from embellishments to make "floating" details.  I used Glue Dots to make sure they stay put...

Be sure to add a blank panel in the back of the card for you to write a note to your card recipient...

The coolest part of this box card is that it folds flat to fit inside a standard size envelope!!!

Just like magic!

Thanks for coming to take a peek!

Here is a list of the other crafty toys I used to make this one...

Sizzix Big Shot

Lawn Fawn--various inks and plaid papers (I cannot get enough of these plaid patterns!)

Close to My Heart--Sea Glass Ink, Birthday Sparkles My Acrylix, 2x2 My Acrylix Block, ShinHan Touch Twin Alcohol Ink Markers, Champagne CS, White Glitter Paper

Copic Sketch Markers

One More Watercolor

I had some more watercolored paper to use after my jawsome shark, so I decided to use up some other stamped and colored Lawn Fawn images and die cuts in my stash.

And if you're going to make a card, you might as well make it a shaker!!! Am I right?   ;)

Shaker window cards are deceptively easy to create if you have some clear packaging (for instance from those cricut cartridges you bought, lol,) 3D foam, and a handful of items to create the "shake." It also makes it super easier if you have any die cuts.  I used my Oval Thin Cuts from CTMH, loose sequins from my stash and added some paper fish from the Mermaid for You stamps and dies that I had already created.  I colored all my images with the ShinHan Touch Twin Alcohol Ink Markers and Copics.

That adorable plaid paper is also from Lawn Fawn. I drool over it each time I see it!  My watercolor supplies and white dots are from Close to My Heart.  I used the leftover MCT stitched frame from my jawsome card, and just trimmed it to the right size...it is definitely times like these that I am happy to be a hoarder keeper of paper scraps!

Finally I used some loose twine and die cut banners from the LF Box Card Die set to create my sentiment.  The alphabet letters are the Pen Pal Alphabet by CTMH.  This is definitely one of my go-to alphas!

It was GREAT to use up some of the leftovers piling up on my workspace!  Are you a scrap keeper or tosser?

A Lawn Fawn Cheerful Get Well Challenge

Hi friends!

I made this adorable little card for my aunt who is bravely fighting cancer and receiving chemo for yet another week this time around.  I am doing my best to write her more now that the summer leaves me with a bit of free time.  I'm linking this one up with the Lawn Fawnatics Get Well Challenge...

This was a super easy shaker card to put together.  I used the Get Well Soon and On the Mend stamps and dies, Into the Woods sequins, Lobster Ink Pad, and a rainbow plaid paper pack that I adore...

These images are pretty easy to color with ShinHan Touch Twin and Copic markers.  I also added some flags using Willow and Sea Glass CS (on sale NOW!!!), along with a spotted purple paper from the Fundamentals Adventure Paper.

I set up my foam tape like this in order to make the shaker feature...The die I used helps me to line up the foam tape on the edges of the heart...

This heart Thin Cuts I used was from Close to My Heart, but is not currently available.  It includes an outline of the heart that I was able to use on the inside sentiment...

Thanks for taking a look!

Lawn Fawnatics First Challenge!!!

How geeked do you think I was when I stumbled upon the Instagram post that proclaimed the VERY FIRST challenge on a brand new Lawn Fawn challenge blog????  Oh, yes.....totally geeked!!!  I was bumming when the Lawnscaping Challenge closed down, so this was JUST the spark to light my creative fire!  I may be a Close to My Heart consultant, but I love me some Lawn Fawn, and I think you will LOVE how these two play nicely together.

I grabbed my new LF box card dies to make a birthday card for my niece.  Thank goodness for an inspiring first challenge I could use right away!

I LOVE this sprinkle paper from the Close to My Heart Sugar Rush Paper Pack.  In fact, ALL of the patterns in this pack complement the Here's the Scoop stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn perfectly!  This sentiment found on Sweet Birthday just happened to be...yep, perfect!

A little bit of creativity quickly turned these candles into a 17...

Oh my word, this scoop!  SO cute!

This adorable little guy looks delicious...and that glittery heart is even more appealing! I used one of the dies in the box card set to add it...

The back side of this box card is the perfect place to add some cardstock for a place to sign or write a little message.  I was even able to add a little bit of character!  ;)

Happy birthday, Abbie!!!  :)
