Happy Camper on the 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!

There has sure been a lot of HAPPY going on around here lately and I LOVE it!  Here is another quick way to use the adorable Camper Crazy My Acrylix from Close to My Heart.

I used a Birch Tree embossing folder and popped the panel up with foam tape.  A bit of coloring with our soon to be retired Alcohol Ink Markers allowed me to make the camper exactly the colors I wanted.  I hear that the new Alcohol Ink markers we will be adding to the new Annual Inspirations Book are even more amazing!  I sure cannot wait to try them.

I also was able to coordinate the colors with a bit of the Creme Brulee Baker's Twine from the retiring Paradise Assortment Baker's Twine pack.

Have you ever used alcohol ink markers?  Our super-cute Stamp of the Month is PERFECT to use with them!  :)

On the Mend at Lawnscaping Challenges

Hi everyone!

There are SO many great crafty bloggers out there that I love to follow when I have the chance.  Many of them are design team members for some fabulous paper crafting products.  Over at the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog they want us to use a DT member as inspiration for our project, so I just HAD to play along!

My inspiration piece comes from Elise C. at Whimsipost.  HERE is a link to her creation..

I love the use of pattern paper in stamping, but hardly use the technique.  It was time to remedy that!  I used my Lawn Fawn On the Mend stamp set to make this card for my Aunt who was facing a mastectomy.

I used my Close to My Heart Chantilly Paper for the green turtle and a retired Flirty pattern for the ice pack.  I just stamped them in black on those papers and trimmed them out.  Then I stamped him on the white card base and put him together like a puzzle!  :)  The cute frame around this fella is from MCT.  I like playing with the white on white look lately.

Elise used one of my favorite embellishments on her card--sequins!  Guess I just HAD to add some as well, hee, hee.  Not sure what brand these are anymore, but I love the colors.

Such a cute little sentiment to lift somebody's spirits!

Thank you, Elise for all the CAS inspiration on your awesome blog!  Can't wait to see more!   :)

Don't forget about the two amazing specials going on with Close to My Heart this month!  Time is running out!

Heart 2 Heart Shaped Card Challenge!

Here we go!  It is already time for the next Heart 2 Heart Challenge for October.  This month, we want you to show us your amazing shaped card creations!  No squares or rectangles, but something else, something different for a change!

What better thing to celebrate with a fun shaped card than an October birthday!?  My youngest just turned 10 last week, so I put on my thinking cap and went to work.  I decided on a party hat design with her favorite color from the Babycakes Paper Packet!

There is quite a bit going on here, so I will hit the high points, lol.  My favorite parts are the Striped Slate Twist Ties and the free printable download of a chevron flag/banner!  You can get them free on my Close to My Heart website until the end of October right HERE!  I just printed them out on white CS, cut it out, and folded it around this stick pin from the For Always Assortment.  Easy as cake!  ;)

I added a glittered up #10 from the Glamor Glitter Alphabet that I easily trimmed the middle out of to fit the flag.  ;)

The pom-pom atop the hat is made by cutting two of the little burst shape from the Artiste Cartridge, one in Lagoon and one in Pear.  Then I layered over top those with pieces of twine tied in the middle.  It is topped off with another piece from the For Always Assortment.

The wonderful sentiment is stamped with my clear acrylic Joyful Birthday stamp.  I just can't get enough of this font!

Some Lagoon Houndstooth Washi, Aqua Dots, and Black Sequins dot the corners, and a strip of green glitter paper is all it took to ground the bottom of the hat.

I lined the inside with two smaller White Daisy CS triangles than I used to make the card in the Cricut Craft Room.

Have you played in CCR yet?  It is amazing what you can do in there!  You can make a shaped card, for instance!  I chose the pennant banner shape on the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge to start and sized it to fit in a standard size A2 envelope.

Then I copied that triangle, and flipped it using the little clicky below...

After lining it up the triangles, just slightly overlap them so that you can choose to WELD them together!  SO easy!

Now that you know how to make a shaped card--it's YOUR turn!  Link your creation up with us to play along over at the H2H Challenge Blog!  :)

Another Birthday Card With Artbooking

Hi there!  I'm back again with another card from the Card-A-Day Challenge.  This one uses an adorable torn page shape cut from the Cricut Artbooking Cartridge.

AND, as a little side note...HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DANA!!!!  If I had realized sooner that it was your birthday today, I would have sent you a card, lol!  Hope you have a fantastic day though!  :)

Back to business!  Here is the card I made on the day we were to use Twine...

I am absolutely addicted to making these little envelopes on the front of cards now!  I used my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board and the Chantilly Paper Packet to make it, and it was super-easy.  I stamped  the star in Lagoon from Artbooking and the Happy Birthday Sentiment in Black from Holiday Tags.

The bright Sunset Orange Baker's Twine is found in the Paradise Assortment.  I love fraying the ends of the twine for some added interest and texture.  One of my favorite new embellishments has a whole different texture!  This button badge from the Babycakes Assortment adds both natural wood and shiny smooth enamel.

Thanks for popping in today!  See you soon!

On the Fifth Day of Christmas...

...my crafty hands made me, a gift for a new baby!

This is something I have been wanting to make for a while and finally got down to it.  :)  One of our cousins had a new baby boy, and the crafty person in me just HAD to bust a move.   It was kind of tricky to take a pic with the glass of the frame picking up the glare.

I printed the background on Close to My Heart White Daisy Cardstock on my Cricut Imagine Machine.  I don't get to play with this bad boy as much as I would like to, but the ink is still crisp and it worked like a charm when I fired him up. This adorable background scene is a special feature on the Nursery Tails Cartridge.  Then I started to add some 3D embellishments.  The Chevron Paper is from Echo Park's Hello Summer collection.  The letters in "Tyler" are from Close to My Heart--the Lots of Dots Irresistables.  I inked them with Pacifica Exclusive Ink.

Sunset orange baker's twine form the strings of the parachute.  The date hangs on one of the Chalkboard Shapes.  Pretty cool birth date, huh?  :)

I wanted to add a pinwheel to the scene, so I got on the Cricut Craft Room and used a cut from 3D pinwheels to make this cute little blue one.  A sucker stick is attached as the stem.

I was really hesitant to make a personalized boy shadowbox frame because I have all girls, lol, but I think it turned out fabulous--and I think Tyler's mommy loved it!  That's what it's all about!  This will be a new customizable addition to my Etsy shop in January!
