Hi there! I'm back again with another card from the Card-A-Day Challenge. This one uses an adorable torn page shape cut from the Cricut Artbooking Cartridge.
AND, as a little side note...HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DANA!!!! If I had realized sooner that it was your birthday today, I would have sent you a card, lol! Hope you have a fantastic day though! :)
Back to business! Here is the card I made on the day we were to use Twine...
I am absolutely addicted to making these little envelopes on the front of cards now! I used my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board and the Chantilly Paper Packet to make it, and it was super-easy. I stamped the star in Lagoon from Artbooking and the Happy Birthday Sentiment in Black from Holiday Tags.
The bright Sunset Orange Baker's Twine is found in the Paradise Assortment. I love fraying the ends of the twine for some added interest and texture. One of my favorite new embellishments has a whole different texture! This button badge from the Babycakes Assortment adds both natural wood and shiny smooth enamel.
Thanks for popping in today! See you soon!
Never let ANYONE dull your sparkle! Self admitted Cricut fanatic and Shimmer Trim addict. ;)

Heart 2 Heart Color Dare!!! Huh?
Happy Labor Day from Team Sunset!
I had a bit of an identity crisis going on last week when making my project for the new Heart 2 Heart Challenge today. You see, I am a member of both the Color My Heart Color Dare Design Team AND the Heart 2 Heart Challenges Design Team. The first challenge this month at Heart 2 Heart is a Color Dare! Are you still with me? ;) I kept asking myself, "wait, what challenge am I working on?"
It all finally worked out in the end, and this post is taking all my concentration to get it linked up just right, lol. The colors for the first challenge of September over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges are Sunset, Barn Red, Gypsy, and Cashmere. (Take a deep breath, it will be OK!)
My gut reaction to the color combination was "Fall." but that bit of Gypsy pulled me over to "Halloween." Here is the card I was able to make the color combo work with...
I even have a lesson for you! Bonus! See the web at the top right? You can see it looks a bit "foggy" in the inside in the picture below because I used my powder pouch on the paper before I stamped the ink. Powder pouches are great for keeping embossing powder contained and not spreading due to static. However, I changed plans midstream (yeah, it happens) and decided to sprinkle Prisma Glitter on the pigment inked webs instead of embossing them white. That led to a little problem...I couldn't safely clear the powder residue from the black paper! It would have been easy to wipe it off if the webs were solid, embossed lines, but in this case, it would have just taken the glitter right off. Lesson learned!
I easily colored the CTMH Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon with my Sunset Alcohol Ink Marker to match the colors...
The background pattern is created with all four challenge colors and my favorite chevron stamp on the In the Background My Acrylix from Close to My Heart. This large stamp is soooo easy to line up using our clear blocks!
Here is another awesome, yet amazingly easy trick I learned...using a black sharpie to change the wood color on this round badge from the Babycakes Assortment! The wood color just didn't fit with my color theme, so I made it black! :)
The inside of the card was super-easy to accent with the spider web stamp from the retired Spellbound Workshop on the Go from Close to My Heart. I am sorry to say I used this set for all the Halloween themed images on this card...
I hope you have a chance to play along with us this month over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges with this challenging color combination. You have ALL month to play with us!
Don't link up to the Color Dare with this one, lol! If you want to play with us over at the Color My Heart Color Dare, then check out the colors for this week HERE! ;)

Babycakes Take Two!
It was all I could do to put this paper packet DOWN, so I decided to show you the softer side of Babycakes with this adorable card for a baby girl.
These banner stamps are in the Babycakes Scrapbook Workshop on the Go Kit that is available starting TODAY on my website! :)
I used a pattern from the brand new Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 also available today! This how to book contains 16 two-page layout patterns, 2 single patterns, and 12 card patterns all inspired by Jeanette Lynton's "let me show you how" philosophy.
This cluster in the bottom corner includes several different embellies. The super, sparkly silver flourish is from the Slate Mini-Medley Assortment. I adore the Babycakes Assortment! This great packet of embellishments comes with the Workshop on the Go Kit as well. The Slate Satin Polka Dot Ribbon is perfect to soften it up.
Don't forget the inside of your card! Just a little patterned paper in the bottom corner can add a lot of punch! A little bit of shimmer trim doesn't hurt either! ;)
Babycakes is great for either boys or girls! :)
If you have been patiently waiting for the new Autumn/Winter Idea Book release from Close to My Heart, wait no more! Head on over to my website and have a look at all the great new products! If you place an order of $75 or more, not only will you receive the August Stamp of the Month absolutely free, but I will also send you your very own copy of the Idea Book! Happy shopping!

Late Night Crafting Craziness!
I am a bit worried about my ability to ever correct my sleeping pattern at this point. After our family vacation out to WA state, I never really got back into the CST groove, lol. The upside to this apparent change in my bedtime has been all the late night crafting I have managed! Can't very well vacuum when the rest of the house is sleeping soundly, no?
SOoooooo I have stumbled upon still more new challenges to try out, the first of which practically had my name on it...Addicted to CAS Code Word: GLITTER!!!
Can you even believe it!? I did the happy dance in my craft room, then got down to work. I could not believe that I hadn't played with one of the new Close to My Heart Autumn/Winter products: Bronze Shimmer Trim!!! For. Real.
It was time to correct that little oversight...
For this clean card, I opened up my new Babycakes Scrapbook Kit. The patterns in this packet are super-versatile, so don't be deterred by the baby theme card, lol. I LOVE the way the Lagoon CS looks with them. These little reverse scalloped edges were the negative scraps from some Cricut cuts I made from the stunning new ARTBOOKING Cartridge. You will definitely want to check out that link after you read this post!
I also used this sketch over at another new blog for me to play along with, Freshly Made Sketches.
This adorable sentiment is included in the D size stamp set in the brand new Babycakes Scrapbooking Workshop on the Go and found in Close to My Heart's Autumn/Winter Idea Book that goes live August 1st on my website. (Um, run-on sentence anyone?) There is a design around it on the actual stamp, but I trimmed it off to use only the words. The Bronze Shimmer Trim is actually included with this kit as well! See how beautifully it picks up the light?
Would you believe these little bling things come with the kit too? Yep! The Babycakes Assortment is full of cute little blingy circles and enamels.
Well, the inside of this card deserved some bling too, don't you think? After all, it IS a glitter challenge!
I believe I just successfully created a boy baby card with bling! Yeah, BABY(cakes)! ;)
