Another Card for Operation Write Home!

Here we go!  This is the second card for my upcoming Operation Write Home Card Workshop on the 18th and 19th of July.  I know we have done a sunburst card before, but I LOVE the papers in the Jubilee Paper Packet used all together like this!  It is soooo cheery and full of SUMMER!

What do you think?  It feels like a picnic!  I used the awesome Circus Alphabet My Acrylix set for the sentiment--this is the July Stamp of the Month from Close to My Heart!  You can get it this month ONLY either at full price for $17.95 OR for just $5 with a $50 order.

I thought the font went well with the cheery papers!

And then, I did what I tend to do...I made another option, lol!  I just could not help myself, so I stamped a couple of images from the Country-Born My Acrylix and used my Watercolor Pencils and blending pen to add some color to match!  This sentiment is just PERFECT for the troops to send home...

I can't wait to show you how easy this was!  :)

Here are some other ways to use the Jubilee Paper Packet...

And here is that Stamp of the Month again!  There is even a video at the bottom of my post with more to see using it...

Happy Camper on the 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!

There has sure been a lot of HAPPY going on around here lately and I LOVE it!  Here is another quick way to use the adorable Camper Crazy My Acrylix from Close to My Heart.

I used a Birch Tree embossing folder and popped the panel up with foam tape.  A bit of coloring with our soon to be retired Alcohol Ink Markers allowed me to make the camper exactly the colors I wanted.  I hear that the new Alcohol Ink markers we will be adding to the new Annual Inspirations Book are even more amazing!  I sure cannot wait to try them.

I also was able to coordinate the colors with a bit of the Creme Brulee Baker's Twine from the retiring Paradise Assortment Baker's Twine pack.

Have you ever used alcohol ink markers?  Our super-cute Stamp of the Month is PERFECT to use with them!  :)

A Belated Birthday Card for Artiste

Hey everyone!  One of the new My Acrylix stamp sets in the Spring and Summer 2014 Idea Book from Close to My Heart is called Belated Birthday.  If that sounds appealing to you, I bet you forget  as many birthdays as I do!  ;)  Either way, I scooped this up as soon as I could, just in case.

Thanks to the ingenious sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch this week, I discovered the perfect card design for using it!

Let me tell you that I really wanted to make a cutie-pie snowman just like the sketch.  BUT, I am DONE with winter!  Oh my goodness, I cannot express through words how much I am DONE!  So I went a different direction.  I am hoping to make time fly, lol, and spring right into summer.  ;)

While brainstorming, I got an image in my head of the hands on a clock face.  I built my design from these hands cut on my Cricut Expression 2 from the Close to My Heart Artiste Cartridge cut using Slate CS.

The alphabet I used for the stamped numbers is called Circus Alphabet, and it will be available as the Stamp of the Month in July.   You can't order it yet, but you can plan ahead and see it on my website HERE.  I decided to use a rainbow color palette to keep this card versatile enough to send to anyone.  The circle is stamped in second generation Slate Ink from the Frame It Up Cricut compatible My Acrylix stamp set.

Isn't the sentiment written with the cutest font?  Here is the part that goes on the inside...

Well, I hope this gets you thinking about some good designs for belated birthday cards.  You can pick up the supplies I used for this one on my website, mimimyselfandi.ctmh.com
