Makeover Monday!

Hi everyone!  I have a super-quick Makeover Monday for you today.

I had a craft Bazaar over the weekend, and wanted to show you the winter themed post-it-note holder I made.  I used some retired Wonderland (swoon) paper and the Make It Merry (on Monday!) My Acrylix stamp set.

These are really easy to make, I tell you!  A MUST try!  HERE is my original post with the direction.

Have a fantastic week, my friends!  :)  Go get your sparkle on!

Home for the Holidays is only here in October!

On the Eleventh Day of Christmas...

...my crafty hands made me, gift tags for under the tree.

Yep, it is almost here!!!  Christmas is right around the corner, so put out those cookies and carrots tonight and sit back and relax.  Um, wait a minute....I mean get your tail in gear and move, move, move!!!  Are you a last-minute wrapper?  I try not to be, but with posting daily for the last twelve (or thirteen, oops!) days, it was inevitable, lol!!!  Welcome to life at Christmas with a craft blog!  ;)

There are several different versions of this tag floating around, but this is mine.  :)  I love the shape of this tag, just wondering why I chose such a trim waistline for the jolly old elf!  ;)  Actually, I had some scraps of shimmer trim left over from another project, and this was the perfect way to use them up!  Belt buckles!

I have really become fond of the mix of blues and browns for Christmas themed paper crafts this year.  These tags are just one implication of my taste.  I am a huge fan of the Wonderland papers that I used and really hope they bring it back someday!   I also used a stamp from December 25th.  I have really used this stamp quite a bit.

My Gelly Roll Stardust pen wanted in on the action today, so I added a bit of shimmer on the snowflakes.  Hope you can see it.

Good luck tonight, and God Bless!!!

Flakey Friends Christmas Cards

I am not quite ready for snow yet, but snowmen I can handle!  Here are a few of the Christmas Cards I have made using the Close to My Heart C1506 Flakey Friends My Acrylix Stamps.

These first two are made with the Wonderland Bulk paper from Close to My Heart which is retired.
I colored them in with our awesome Alcohol Ink Markers.  Then I added some Glitter Glitz to the snowy parts of the picture for some sparkle.  I used CC1015 Holiday Wishes for both sentiments.

The cardstock with my snowman friend is popped up with some foam tape for dimension.

Some shimmer trim was inevitable...

For the second card, I changed up the color scheme for the picture a bit and flipped the background paper to the other side.  A new sentiment gave the card whole new possibilities.

Here is that Glitter Glitz...

Finally, I wanted to do a more traditional color scheme.  I embossed our Sweet Leaf cardstock and sanded it to reveal the white core.  I LOVE using our cardstock to do this easy but powerful technique.  I stamped some White Daisy snowflakes onto Cranberry cardstock to break up the red.  The simple sentiment sums up my wish for the recipient.  It is from the D1492 Christmas Love My Acrylix set.

A bit of organdy ribbon and twine wrap this one up just perfectly!

You can find these adorable snowmen in my Etsy shop now just in time for Christmas or on my CTMH website to make your own!

Happy Birthday to Carisa!

I really wanted to share the gift that I sent along with my Mojo #266 card.  I used one of my favorite retired papers from Close to My Heart, Wonderland.  It coordinated nicely with the card, so I wanted to show you how much bang you can get out of matchy-matchy cards and gifts.  ;)

I thought of a totally new way to use my shimmer trim!  I added it as a little tag loop to attach it to my Slate Satin Polka-Dot Ribbon.  I only removed the backing from the adhesive where it would touch the tag, not where the embroidery floss threads through.

Here is the other side.  The little box closes with a hook and loop dot.  Then I embellished it with a flower and button.  This is the same little box cut from the Cricut Artiste Cartridge that I used for my pumpkin boxes for Halloween--seriously!  ;)  HERE they are in case you missed them.  And yes, I am still trying to figure out how to edit the video tutorial I made.   :(   I need a tech department, lol.

I didn't take a picture of them, but I added some of my homemade gift tags inside the box that my friend had admired on my facebook page.  She is such a sweetheart!  I hope she has a fabulous day!  :)

Mojo Monday #266

Welcome!!!  Have you ever woken up (grammar police, I will voluntarily turn myself in later) in the morning expecting to feel pretty blah, but then you don't?  Anyone with me here?  Well, I am in the best kind of crazy, happy mood!  Probably a bit because I am anticipating someone receiving a little something that I made them for a very special day!  ;)

I ALSO made this same person a card with the sketch for this week's Mojo Monday!!!  Here it is--my entry for Mojo Monday #266...

I am so in love with this paper right now, but alas, it is a retired pack from CTMH.  Sigh.  The color combination is just beautiful though, and I added some solid Twilight Cardstock. I used my Art Philosophy Cartridge from Close to My Heart to cut the scallop and the circles.  The card is a standard size A2.

I used the sentiment "Hello friend" that I received as my prize for being a winner in Mojo Monday 257 a little while back.  It is in the Verve stamp set Hope Blooms.  I also used a snowflake theme Cuttlebug folder to emboss this background banner.  My Gelly Roll Clear Star pen added sparkle to all the raised parts of the paper after I sanded it.  LOVE.  I hope you can see it...

I also used my absolute favorite product that I carry for Close to My Heart called Shimmer Trim.  It is basically glitter on a roll with an adhesive back. I love the texture of it!

This adorable snowflake is cut out with the Art Philosophy Cartridge as well.  I actually like the little bits of fuzzy paper left behind in the little tiny cuts.  It makes the flake look fluffy!  ;)

I FINALLY remembered to add some interest to the inside of my card as well!  Quite proud of that, lol.  I used Close to My Heart My Acrylix D1187 For All Occasions for the Happy Birthday sentiment inside.  I have cut apart several stamps lately, but not this time.  I just inked up one word at a time to stamp them on separate lines.

Thanks for stopping in, and if you see Carisa, tell her not to read my blog until at least Saturday!  ;)
