Sympathy Card Quilt with Close to My Heart Background Stamps

Hi everyone!  It is the last Peachy Keen Challenge of the month, so let's get to it!

This week we are making sympathy cards.  I don't have a big collection of Peachy Stamps, so I had to make do with a sympathy card for someone who might be down in the dumps.  I probably would not use the characters or faces for any condolence cards.

I have been wanting to make a quilted card for a while now after seeing different versions around the internet.  A quilt seems to say, "comfort," so I thought it would pair up nicely with this little bear and sentiment from the PK Thinking of You Bear Stamp set.

I used Kraft, Chocolate, Desert Sand, Colonial White, Twilight and Crystal Blue CS for the 1.25 inch squares of the quilt.  Then I used various patterns from the Close to My Heart In the Background, Distressed Backgrounds, and Geometric Backgrounds My Acrylix sets to stamp in Twilight, Chocolate, and Desert Sand Ink.  Wow, that was a mouthful!  ;)

I am super-pleased with the way the faux stitching turned out!  I just used a .5 tip My Legacy Writer (in my clearance section!) to draw in the x's.  Writing on the different layers of the papers was tricky, but I got the hang of it after a minute or two.

I forgot to show you the inside!!!

Can't wait to try this card again with a different sentiment to make it less cutsie.  Not that there is anything wrong with cutsie!  ;)

Halloween Puppy Treats!

Hello my sparkly friends!  It is a double post kind of day again...what can I say, I am a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants type of crafter.  You just never know when I will be inspired or find a great challenge to try!  ;)

This project is for the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge that ends tonight.  Egads!  We are to create a 3D project with a pet theme.  Before I started, I found out that My Craft Spot's Monday Challenge 109 was a 3D challenge as well!  I was super-excited since I JUST received some stamps from Kimberly to play with!  Woot-woot a two-fer!

Most of my Peachy stamps are faces, so I knew I wouldn't be stamping a pet.  I browsed my Cricut handbooks for a change instead...and saw a bone!  Inspiration struck, and here is what I put together...

It is a treat pouch for canine trick-or-treaters!  I used the Sarita Paper Packet from Close to My Heart for the background paper.  The black CS scalloped trim is made with the NEW Scallop Border Punch

How cute is that little doggie bone wearing a witch hat?  One of my favorite things about Peachy faces is that you can bring any item to life instantly.  :)  I cut this bone at 1.25 inches on Champagne CS from the Create a Critter Cartridge.  Then I used face parts from both Everyday Character Face Parts and Basic Paper Doll Faces to bring it to life.  To accentuate the Halloween theme, I added this adorable witch's hat!

The hat is from a retired Close to My Heart My Acrylix called Wicked.  It usually looks like this:

I changed it up a bit to be more simple and cheery (read: no spider, lol.)  My favorite addition is the green glitter paper band!  Save your scraps--you never know WHAT you might use them for!

Anyhow, I really wanted to play with my new Stampin' Around Fall stamps and the dies that go along with it.  I used my White Daisy, Black, and Sunset CS to add this little sentiment to the pouch. I added the white circle after tying on the button with twine and popped it up with foam squares.  :)

See that doggie bone pattern paper behind it?  I don't own a single piece of dog themed paper (no dog!), but I made it all my myself with the retired A Bowwow from CTMH.  It is SO easy to make your own pattern paper!  Have you ever tried it?

Thanks for stopping in to see my latest creation!   If you know some pooches that would like a treat pouch like this one, email me at mimimyselfandi@outlook.com and I will hook you up!

Laughing Lola Hold the Milk!

Hi everyone!  I hope you are having a fantastic week so far.  Well, I guess it has only been Monday, but I have some craftiness to share today (go figure, lol) so let's do it!

How many of you use sketches to get started on a card or scrapbook page?  I haven't even known about them for long, but ever since I discovered these lovely little project "maps," I have found lots of different ways of using products that I would not have thought of before.  Here is my latest sketch inspired creation!

 and the sketch...

I am linking up with Peachy Keen Stamps Sketch Challenge today as well as the Color My Heart Color Dare!

I actually do feel sorry for this adorable little neglected glass of milk now!  ;)  I cut this glass of milk on Sky and White Daisy CS on my Expression 2 with the Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge from Provocraft.  I used two of my Peachy Keen face sets, Basic Paper Doll Faces and Funshine Face Parts, to give it the saddest little look of surprise.  Do you like your Oreos with milk?

Personally, I'll take sparkle over milk any day!   ;)  Doesn't the plaid B&T Duo from the Laughing Lola Paper Packet look like a tablecloth?  I thought so!

I LOVE the August Stamp of the Month from Close to My Heart!!!  It is called A Chocolate Affair, and oh my does it have adorable chocolate images!  Check it out!

Did I forget to mention it is yours completely FREE with every $50 purchase from my website this month?  IT IS!!!  :)  Just fill your cart with your wishlist, and it will prompt you to add your free stamp of the month!   These cookies are pretty scrumptious looking!  The sparkly silver shimmer trim makes me drool even more...lol.

The versatile set even pairs some yummy images with sweet sentiments...

It was super-simple to add a little pizzaz to the inside of the card too!

One word of caution...these stamps are prone to causing late night munching!  Mmmmmm, chocolate!  :)

Anything Goes Get Well Card with Close to My Heart!

I was so excited to see that it was time for another Anything Goes Peachy Keen Challenge this week, that I could not wait to play along!  I had been wanting to bring back my sweet band-aid on another card idea I had in my head, and this was the perfect time to use my PK face stamps again!

I used a retired Close to My Heart paper packet called Dreamin'.  This packet was around before my time with CTMH, but I fell in love with it when I found it...hmmm, how many papers have I fallen head over heals for now?  ;)

Anyway, I made some more band-aids that I first made in THIS POST, and stamped the cutest little uh-oh! face on it with my PK stamps.   I used a die from MFT to cut this simple sheet of torn out notebook paper.  After I stamped the Get Well Soon sentiment from MCT, I tore the paper in half and skewed it a bit on the front of the card before attaching the band-aid.

I love the super-simple message and how the image reinforces it!  The great colors would be wonderful to use for just about anyone, AND if you didn't want a cute smiley (but why wouldn't you?) it even looks fantastic without it!  :)

Now I have a new idea for a "missing you" card, so I better get busy!  Thanks for popping in and keep the great challenges coming, PKS!  :)

Wrap It Up With Ribbon this Time!

Wow, I almost confused my self right out of entering a contest!  I didn't realize until I was making my project that there were TWO current Wrap It Up contests going on!

On Monday I posted a simple, yet awesome pillowbox gift card holder.  Today, I made another box that has a "thanks" rather than a birthday theme for the Peachy Keen Wrap It With Ribbon Challenge.  This one also pays tribute to one of my favorite summertime treats--ICE CREAM!  Heart 2 Heart has posted their third July challenge, I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for ICE CREAM, so I am linking up there too!  :)

Guess what!?  Another challenge to play!  Thanks to L.B. for pointing me to the Die Cuttin Divas Challenge Blog where they are having an Ice Cream Challenge too!  :)

I used two retired Close to My Heart My Acrylix sets for this project, Fanfare and Thank You.  The colors are super-yummy together in Cotton Candy and Pear!  I had to make the little guy with the face into a chip mint scoop, my kiddos' favorite!!!  His adorable face is from the Peachy Keen January 2013 Kit.  I used my black stickles for the little chocolate chips.  The cone is stamped in Cashmere Ink to keep things light and refreshing.

The White Daisy base of my box is stamped with first and second generation images of Cotton Candy Ink.  One ink pad=two or more different shades of that color, did you know?  I added that adorable little strip of Lagoon Houndstooth washi just like I did on the box I posted Monday.

Don't you think a great way to say thank you is with a gift card for your favorite ice cream shoppe?  I do!  :D

You have the rest of July to play along over at H2H for their Ice Cream challenge, so go ahead and use your CTMH products to join in on the fun!

Now, all this talk about ice cream makes me want to go EAT some ice cream!  What is your favorite flavor?  Mine is either cherry amaretto at Culver's or Cake Batter at Cold Stone!  YUMMO!!!

It's Challenge Time Again!

Ok, so I think I caught the challenge bug this time--and that is a bug I am willing to suffer with for a while!  ;)  I made this adorable little snowflake card for a couple of different challenges.  The first is the Peachy Keen Challenge!  I discovered Peachy Keen stamps a while back when I first started to go gaga over my cricut.  They make lots of little face stamps to decorate your cricut cuts with.  LOVE them!  Also, I am linking up to the Heart 2 Heart Challenge for the first time ever!  The theme this week is "Snow Much Fun" and this card sure fits!

What do you think?  I know this little guy sure melts MY heart.  Maybe it's the sparkle that got to me.  ;)

The background paper is made with my BRAND NEW embossing folder.  I was so excited to get it!  Love the x's and o's!  I strategically placed shimmer trim throughout the snowflake to light up his face.  The face is stamped with pieces from PK-943 Funshine Face Parts that fit 3-4 inch paper dolls or other cuts with a 7/8 to 1 3/8 diameter.  The snowflakes are both cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy Collection from Close to My Heart.  The larger one is cut at 3.5 inches and the top layer is cut at 2.5 inches.  I colored the cheeks in with our Blush Alcohol Ink Marker.  The cute little tag is also from the same cricut cartridge and cut at 1.75 inches.

Here is my complete creative formulary for this valentine card.
