I Heart Thin Cuts (and Florida)

Soooooo with the amazing 25% off sale on Close to My Heart's Thin Cuts, let me show you some of my creations with them for inspiration.

I made this card for a customer with a specific sentiment need...and I'm pretty sure it worked out perfectly.  I used the Fundamentals Whimsy papers, Florida My Acrylix (did you know we have ALL 50 states?) and the Hearts Thin Cuts (on SALE now!) for this one, as well as a cut from the Cricut Artbooking Cartridge. 

I added this little flag from the Hello Lovely Complements and some Dreamin' Big Sequins.

Sometimes the perfect sentiment is from a completely random stamp set...this one is now retired.

Be sure to pick up any of our amazing CTMH Thin Cuts (even the sets with stamps!) this month while the sale is on!  When they are gone, they are GONE and will not be put on back order, so don't hesitate.  ;)

Throwback Thursday Scrapbooking Tips!

I am throwin' back to the beach again today to bring you a quick and easy tip for hiding those "not so picturesque" parts of your pics.

See how I used the inch and a half border that was left from the Paper Fundamentals Whimsey Assortment to frame this one?

I wanted to use this picture, but one of my kiddos' derrieres was pretty prominent, lol, and I really couldn't crop it out without altering the pic too much...

A clever bit of journal box placement was all it took to remedy the situation so that everyone would be happy.  ;)  I love the way the dark CS looks with the white Gelly Roll ink...

Remember, there are never any mistakes in scrapbooking--only opportunities for embellishment!  ;)

Artfully Sent Automobile Pop Up Thank You Card

What you are about to see is result of the collaboration of creative minds at the crop I went to on Saturday.  It was SUCH a great way to try out the Artfully Sent Collection and get everyone excited while doing so!  I just LOVE when everyone is contributing ideas saying, "OOOOH!  Add this!"  and "use THAT!!!!"

I wanted to make a thank you card for one of my daughter's friends for taking her to get a new phone when hers died the other day.  (THAT is a story in itself, lol!)  Here is what we came up with!

I chose to use the Thistle colored paper from the Paper Fundamentals Whimsy collection.  These papers all have a shiny embossed pattern on one side and the same pattern in white on the other.  They are FANTASTIC card bases! 

Since this is a thank you card, I pulled out one of the stamp sets that accompanies the Artfully Sent Cartridge--yep--there was a thank you sentiment!  :)  The Black Glitter Paper is a GREAT highlight on the large card front.  This one is a 5 x 7 finished size when you use the sizing on the handbook.

Oh my, those nails were sparkly!  Love my Jams!

Well, Morgan's car is grey, so I thought this was the perfect color combo!  I used my Close to My Heart Slate and Whisper CS for the car and added a silver glitter paper framed personalized license plate suggested by a cropper! 

This alphabet even comes with the Cricut collection exclusively available from your Close to My Heart Consultant--ME!  :)  

 My cropping peep was totally right about the glitter paper being the PERFECT road!  Thanks, Eileen!

Oh my goodness, I just adore how this one turned out!!!  Now to pop in a gas station card and send it!  :)

Washi Wednesday--Where's the Washi?

Welcome, welcome!  I have a GREAT little double page layout for you today, so come on in! 

If you are here for the first time, you picked the PERFECT day to drop in.  If you came from Katy's Blog, YOU are sooooo welcome here!  My fellow blogger and CTMH consultant friend nominated me for a very special Creative Blogger Blog Hop (read more about it on her blog.)  Katy, can you feel my hugs!?  Ooops, not so tight?  ;)

The idea for this one popped RIGHT into my inbox, believe it or not!  The link to this blog post over on Doodlebug Designs was JUST what I needed for a two page layout class coming up...I showed my Facebook followers just a sneak peek last week, so here is the entire thing!

BUT!!!  I sure didn't use washi, lol!  I used one of my most FAVORITE new products in the Annual Inspirations Idea Book from Close to My Heart--the Paper Fundamentals in both Whimsy and Basic Assortments.  The paper comes in a range of colors in each pack with a super pattern on one side and an embossed shiny pattern on the other...

I paired them up with the Confetti Wishes Complements and Silver Sequins for a super birthday layout!

I think the little strips of paper look just like a bunch of candles...
