I Mustache You if You Remember this Throwback Thursday

I am still all about the whole mustache craze...especially at Christmas time!   Remember this super-cute gift card holder?

I used the Cricut Artiste Collection to cut out this amazingly easy to assemble card...AND the mustache!

I couldn't wait to use the mustache again this year, and I found my inspiration on Pinterest again for this adorable gift card holder...and changed it up to use a mustache!

You won't believe how easy this really is to make.  Just cut out a 5 inch square piece of red CS ( I used Close to My Heart Cranberry) and use the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Scoreboard to make the perfect size envelope.  I cut the mustache on White Daisy CS at .75 inches with the Artiste Cartridge on my Cricut Expression.  I used the same machine to cut the white border from Art Philosophy at 1 inch--the perfect length to wrap around the envelope and seal with two glue dots so it slides off easily for the recipient to open!  :)

Santa's eyes and nose are made using the Grey and Black Epoxy Bubbles and the Carmine ShinHan TouchTwin Alcohol Ink Marker.  Perfect!

Place any size order this month on my website, and I will send you one!  :)

Don't forget about these awesome deals in December only...

Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

Time for another Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

You should be arriving from April's Blog!  If not, this hop is actually one big circle, so just keep on hopping.  You can find the entire line-up of Close to My Heart Consultants participating this month on Melinda's Blog.

I hope you are ready for some serious inspiration!

The September 2014 SOTM, Family is Forever, has an awesome tree image that perfectly fills a standard size A2 card front.  I combined it with a teeny, tiny stamp from the National Stamping Month #30yearsofhappy My Acrylix (also from Close to My Heart) to make a lovely little note for my sweetie.  ;)

I used a little technique that is super easy in order to get both the Cocoa and New England Ivy Inks onto my stamp.  First, I completely inked the main center trunk and branches using the Cocoa Exclusive Ink Pad.  Then I used a sponge wedge to dab off the brown ink on most of the leaves.  Finally, I inked up around the leaves with my New England Ivy Exclusive Ink Pad.  I really like the gradual transition in colors it produced.  Also, the time it took to add the second ink gave the solid trunk a bit of a worn texture as the ink separated...love it!

Now, I didn't want to cut out the little hearts from my stamp--YET.  There is no doubt in my mind that I will now, though.  ;)  That is one of the benefits of Close to My Heart's clear acrylic stamps--you can always alter them with our Micro-Tip Scissors!

Anyhow, this time, I decided to add some pops of red with the Grey and Black Epoxy Bubbles.

No, I haven't lost my mind--YET!  ;)  I simply colored the lightest color bubbles with my Carmine ShinHan Alcohol Marker!

On the base of the tree, someone left a little sign from #30yearsofhappy stamped in Desert Sand Ink...

...certainly nicer than carving initials in the tree!  ;)

That is all I have for you today, and I have to run and stick this note in my hubby's lunchbox, so hop on over to Terry Ann's Blog to see some more inspiring artwork!  Thanks for stopping by!

What DO YOU do with YOUR Cricut Artbooking Leftovers?

Hi again!  I am using a different browser so I can work in Blogger tonight because it appears my other browser had on the outs with her.  :/  Tech difficulties is not my favorite thing to deal with because, well, I play much nicer with paper than bytes.  ;)

Anyhow, I was excited to share this card with you that I had the idea for BEFORE I left for the beach.  I had been saving up some of my leftover cuts from the Artbooking overlays, and wanted to use them on a card.  It came together so nicely when I finally got the chance!

I adore how this reminds me of a Little Golden Book with the binding on the left side.  Anyone with me on that one?  :)  I am totally dating myself there...

Anywhoooo...This is my favorite silhouette on the Mother's Day My Acrylix from Close to My Heart.  I am actually giving this set away to one lucky customer in April!  Each person who attends my workshop or places an order with me this month will be entered to win!

Mother's Day C1577

Up in this cluster I used the Gold Polka-Dot Washi Tape, Green Epoxy Bubbles, Black Epoxy Bubbles, and little punch-outs of the Tan Glitter Paper.  Those Artbooking leftovers just whet my appetite for more!  ;)

If you follow me on Facebook, you saw this sneak peek yesterday, so go "like" my page by clicking in the top right column of my blog--don't miss a thing!  :)

You'll Flip for the Flip Stand Album!

Ready for more Close to My Heart Flip Stand ideas?  Great!

This page was actually the very first one I created...because I loved the cover of our Spring and Summer Idea Book so much!

Since the Flip Stand pages I am making have a base of 5.5 inches by 6 inches, I had to make a smaller version of the 12 x 12 layout it features.  I used most of the same elements for mine...

I used papers from the Balloon Ride, Timberline, and Skylark Paper packets.

The True to Life My Acrylix set is a GREAT neutral gender choice for scrapbooking.  None of the images scream "boy" or "girl" so you can use whatever ink colors you like to make it lean either way...or none at all like this cover page!

I accented the stamped images below with the Baker's Twine Neutral Metallic Assortment and a Grey Epoxy Bubble.

Isn't that wood grain paper from Timberline a fun print to tear?  This tab and the tag shape that go along with the True to Life images are cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge exclusively available through Close to My Heart.

See those cute feathers?  They are stamped with the brand new Feathers My Acrylix.  I love the versatility of these great on-trend embellishments!

These alphabet stickers from the Keyboard Kraft Alphabet are one of my favorite things to use on layouts for labeling and journaling.

Do you ever use the projects from the Idea Book to create your own pages?  We absolutely encourage you to!  It is a fantastic resource for your scrapbooking and cardmaking, so be sure to ask your Close to My Heart consultant how to get one today!  If you don't have a consultant, you can purchase one on my website along with any of these products featured in my layout here on my website:
